Late to the party on this thread but I saw Mark Normand in Lafayette La earlier this month. His bits were funny and he killed.

Tim Dillon coming to Houston soon to the improv is on my list if I can get there.

Brian Regan's new Netflix special is out today. I'll be watching it tonight. He's on my comedy Mount Rushmore.

Update: it was really good, IMO. I loved it.

I thought it was pretty great too. I had to rewind the bagpipe bit at the end and watch it again. I was dying

I can't put my finger on it but he seemed like he had a renewed energy or something. Like it just had a great vibe to it from start to finish. Seemed like a great crowd too.

Seinfeld performs a lot at winstar. Do yourself a favor and go catch it. That way, you can tell your grandkids you saw the goat.

I hope he brings a live goat on stage, because no one should consider him the GOAT.

I know comedy is subjective but:

Richard Pryor
Bill Cosby
Eddie Murphy
Bob Newhart
Bill Burr
Dave Attell
Patrice O'Neal
Jim Gaffigan
Brian Regan
Ricky Gervais
Louis CK
Dave Chapelle
Dave Attell
George Carlin

Just to name a few are funnier.

I never get the Seinfeld bashing. Best Sitcom Ever. His stand-up is great. He's richer than God.

Is his stand-up better than Cosby? Probably not to most people. Was the Cosby Show even in the same neighborhood as Seinfeld? Nope.

Seeing Seinfeld live would be an amazing experience. He might not be Stand-up Goat, but he and Chappelle are the front runners in the all-around category.

You called me out 18 months after I posted this. Well done!

If you don't consider Seinfeld on the Mount Rushmore of comedians (we can leave 'GOAT' alone if you like), then that's on you.

Yeah, F that noise about Seinfeld. Saw him in Vegas and he absolutely killed.

I've been running a comedy playlist on shuffle (after I drop the kids off, of course) and here are some of my "current" favorites (their bits span a long time):

Nate Burgatze
Jim Jeffries
Tom Segura
Kyle Kinane
Gary Gulman
Patton Oswalt (if you can embrace the nerd, and not the political commentary)
Mitch Hedberg
Eddie Murphy
Bo Burnham
Stephen Lynch
John Mulaney

Seinfeld is plenty funny and the TV show was great....but as a standup...not even close to GOAT

Patrice O'Neal has laugh out loud jokes, Seinfeld is mostly clever observation that are funny.

Seinfeld is more consistent but rarely hilarious.

All my opinion obviously.

Just watched Ari Shaffir's new special, Jew.

It's pretty great. Makes a lot of religious jokes mostly at Jews and Christian's, so just a warning if that's not your thing.

Just got home from watching Bill Burr. He killed it! Very glad i got to see him in person.

My Mt. Rushmore of current comedians:
Bill Burr
Dave Chappelle
Joe Rogan
Jo Koy

Also recently discovered Andrew Schultz on YouTube. He's really good. He's got one special on YouTube and a bunch of crowd work videos. Hoping he comes to my area soon.

With all due respect, you're wrong about Patrice O'Neal not deserving a spot among the others on that list. Dead wrong. Guy was a killer.

And I understand the reason for your error. PO died way young and the bulk of his career was before social media so he had almost no exposure compared to the comics today with podcasts, YouTube/social media and all the streaming networks gobbling up content for half baked stand up "specials".

I'm a big Sebastian Maniscalco fan and his latest Netflix special just came out. I will say I think it's the weakest of all his specials, unfortunately. It's still enjoyable enough, but just seemed a bit flat to me.

The lack of crowd noise/laughter was weird and hurt the overall feel. I saw him do this same routine in person in L.A. in July, and it was great. But this special was not good.

I'm seeing Bill Burr this week, really looking forward to see him live for the first time.

I watch a lot of comedy online but don't go to shows very often at all. Saw Dave Attell a couple months ago, I had seen him about 20 years ago. Back then I was late 20's, life was good, he had me in tears but probably not that hard to do with me back at that age.

This time I was around 50 years old, marriage and multiple kids, maybe a little hard to get a hard laugh out of me. He had me in tears again, just the right combo of cynical and goofy for me.

Totally agree. I saw him perform all this material in Austin and he killed. And I've seen him perform at the Wynn, where the special was shot, and it was a loud, boisterous crowd the night I was there (a couple years ago), but like you said, it sounded quiet on the special.

I'll be there too. Also, Nate Bargatze a few weeks back was incredible. First time I've watched comedy in a huge arena and I didn't know how well it would play, but it was great.

I saw him at 3rd floor cantina. He was and is hilarious! They way he speaks, his rhythm kind of reminds of of Norm McDonald.

Great show last night! That was the 4th or 5th time I've seen Sebastian and I won't say it was the best one I've ever seen but it was well worth the money and he is one of the best in my humble opinion. It was funny that he screwed up literally his last line of the night, but aside from that he was really good, the crowd work was well done and the few local humor jokes he did were well done as well. And his material is mostly the same as it's always been, I mean the style of it and the angle he takes on everything, but it's still enjoyable. You kind of know what you're going to get, but but that's okay because he's good at it.

I also continue to appreciate the fact that Sebastian through his humor still seems incredibly genuine when it comes to his core values of hard work and respect and appreciating where you've come from. Of course he uses those to turn them on their head and make fun of everything he sees around him that doesn't respect those things, but you can tell that he appreciates the way he was raised and the ethic that our culture used to have when it comes to working hard and not making an ass of yourself.

I do like to take a little pride in the fact that I was very early on the Sebastian train. Way back at his very first special I was already a huge fan because my brother-in-law got me into him. So it's been fun to see his comedy go from what it was back then to what it is now.

All that said, whille Sebastian is one of my favorites, having also just seen Nate Bargatze at the same arena a few weeks ago, Bargatze right now is just on another level. I mean he absolutely killed the Moody Center crowd. Sebastian did great and had a good set, but it wasn't on the same level as Bargatze.
