I'll show up for every one of those. Eggers is now my favorite director simply because of how he dives 1000% into the world of the film. No dumbing it down for the "modern audience". He creates an experience, the closest thing we get to fairy tales in modern cinema.
I agree, I've seen enough and enjoyed enough of his work that he's worth the price of admission. If he's selling, I'm buying.
Can't say that I'm super fired up for yet another Romeo & Juliet and Christmas Carol movie... there are just a ton of those. His version of those will no doubt be excellent however, as was Nosferatu. I would just like to see him explore less familiar waters like he did in The Witch. He's relatively young so it's encouraging that we've many more years of his films. The Knight, Labyrinth sequel, Rasputin & a possible Western sound amazing.
Agreed on the Romeo and Juliet movie, but I haven't really watched a version of that story in a long time so I'm game to see what he'd do with it.
I'm a sucker for Christmas movies especially the Christmas Carol, so Eggers directing Dafoe as Scrooge will definitely put my butt in the seat.
The Rasputin and medieval story just seem like natural fits for Eggers.
But its Labyrinth and the idea of a western directed by him that piques my interest the most I think.
