A lot of chatter that we're getting trailers for both Superman and Jurassic World: Rebirth in the next three weeks or so. Superman is all but confirmed (in early to mid December), but Jurassic World: Rebirth is a bit of a surprise, and could drop as early as this week with Wicked (seeing as they're both Universal releases).
And now this as well. Potential trailer debut with Kraven the Hunter (another Sony movie, December 13th) and a 2025 release announcement? I can't see BTSV releasing in 2026, the same year as the live-action fourth Spider-Man movie, and 2027 feels like too much of a gap since the last one, so 2025 would make sense as long as they can have it ready in time…

There's a reason it looks better, same writer/director of the original animated film.
It's crazy how true to the design of Toothless they stayed to the original, several shots from the trailer that are identical framing and action to the animated film as well.

Why is this movie even being made? I mean it looks fine but what's the point of a carbon copy of the animated film?
Short answer: Dreamworks saw the box office from Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.
While I'm not a fan of these in general, I love the original and very glad to see they have one of the original creators doing it. I do think this is a world that lends itself really well for some cool visuals in live action, I don't think this is a film we need by any stretch but I'm cautiously optimistic.

This came out during my son's youth so I saw it numerous times and it's probably my favorite animated movie from that era. I'm sorry, but this trailer looks like s***. The exact same dragons, but with a knockoff, Walmart version of Hiccup who, from what I can tell in the trailer, belongs in a ScFy movie not a big budget spectacle. And Gerard Butler did great voicework in the animated movies but man he looks horrible in that get-up.
