I'm not really sure what to think about this. Trailer is not as bad as I feared but with them casting Tom Holland I was hoping they go with like a prequel type setting. This looks like some weird amalgamation of all the games but with a teen Drake and the least charismatic Sully they could find.

I thought the casting choices for Drake and Sully were pretty bad when they announced it and the trailer confirmed it, but I'll still see it. It could still be an okay movie

Yeah, the trailer doesn't seem bad, but both castings are so odd. I'll probably still watch it at some point, but it just seems a bit off.

i think the original plan was for Wahlberg to play Nate, but it's taken so long to develop that he's aged into the Sully role.

i like the Holland casting as Nate. he's a little small, but he's got the charm and can pull off the action too. ten years ago, bruce campbell would've been the perfect Sully. obviously too old now to play opposite a younger Nate.

i thought the trailer was fine. the games do such a great job with storytelling that the movie will have it's work cut out for it to live up to the name, but i'll see it regardless

I just finished Uncharted 4, and it's the only Uncharted I've played, but while playing I found it hard to believe Tom Holland could pull off Nate. Just seems too small and young.

Also seems like Sony is blowing their load here. Why not just make the movie about ONE game, then if it's successful you have 3 sequels already plotted out. Instead it's like they tried to Frankenstein all four into one packed movie.

I mean, it can't be any worse than the latest Tomb Raider movies, right?

I thought it was supposed to be a prequel

Maybe at one point and a prequel would make sense considering the Holland casting but it's obviously taking things from multiple games in the series.

Looks like UC4 with plot points and set pieces ripped out of other games.

This could be Will Smith's first Oscar win.

Yeah, I was assuming we'd see a bit of a prequel or even something loosely based on the prequel section of the games and this is just...everything.

And just a reminder that Fillion has already played Nathan Drake and killed it

Buzz is that Smith is the current front-runner for Best Actor and the movie itself is the current front-runner for Best Picture.

It's amazing to me that Bruce Campbell retired from playing Ash only to end up in a very obviously Evil Dead inspired movie. I'll watch this for sure, Bruce can make just about anything enjoyable to watch.

Poster pet peeve!!!!

5 actors, 5 names above them, yet the names aren't above the correct actor!!!! Drives me nuts!

This is a really boring reason for this -- but actors negotiate billing (whose name goes in what order) as part of signing on to a project. Then whoever makes the posters (in marketing) wants to put the most prominent and appealing actors as the focus or center of the poster. So...its 2 departments that don't get a say in what the other is doing coming up with a final product.
