Ha, missed that. Read a report a couple days ago that it's coming 2023 in 4K. We're apparently getting Avatar in 4K this year, then The Abyss in 4K next year.
They need to throw in True Lies in 4K. That movie is never streaming and has never been on Blu-ray.

This looks a straight to video knock-off of a real movie poster.
Ha, I actually don't mind it. And it's kind of cool/baller that the franchise is so well-known, they don't even need the title.

Hmmm…not loving the MI title at this point but McQuarrie can do no wrong in my book so will give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
That title is way cheesy and not fitting of the franchise in my opinion.

IMO, it's about on par with "Rogue Nation" (the worst of the bunch). Also, I'd bet just about anything that Hunt finally dies in M:I8/DRP2. So him being "dead" and, say, the bad guys getting their "reckoning" sounds about right.

It's a navigation technique that almost certainly has nothing to do with the movie. Like they just thought it sounded cool cuz it has the word 'dead' in it. Something you'd find in a B movie.

That's kind of my point, though. They ALL have a B movie vibe. And "Ghost Protocol" is the same way - vaguely technical sounding, but basically gibberish yet sounds cool as hell.
I had only heard buzz about this movie but knew nothing about it. Honestly, this is one of the best trailers I've seen in a while. Big time in for this one.
Wow, yeah, that looks incredible. While it's had a lot of buzz, and I was definitely curious, I was under the impression it was basically just going to be a mid-century marital drama. I had no idea there was a whole other Twilight Zone vibe.

You will have no shortage of formats to see this in, believe me. 3D, IMAX 3D, HFR, etc.
I'm probably driving to either Orlando or Miami just to see it in IMAX Laser 3D with HFR.

I think now it's just, "Hey, Avatar is back" and then come the next trailer/marketing push in the fall, that's when they'll probably really sell the 3D.
Ok gotcha. I'm pretty apathetic about 3D generally but I would definitely learn towards seeing it that way for this one.

Probably the only film I've ever seen in the theater in 3D where I was like "wow I'm glad I did that".

I just hope Avatar 2 doesn't inspire a bunch of gratuitous and poorly execute 3D movies like the first Avatar did.
I still remember an awful Beowulf going out of its way to stab a spear at the audience in the first 10 minutes and then forgetting it was a bad 3D conversion the rest of the movie.
