The tendency on his board for people to get butthurt about a movie or show based on one of the actors political views is mind numbing. Tim Allen is staunchly conservative and I agree with little to nothing he says in his private life, but he's a good actor and my kids and I watch the Santa Clause every year. WHO CARES WHAT THESE PEOPLE BELIEVE. Pay attention to the product they are putting out, Is it good? Did it make you laugh? Did it entertain you? Then they did their job. Stop being so sensitive.
I actually dont like to jump into entertainment threads with politics because, well, my name, and because I come here to take a break from that stuff on the other forum.
But I can't resist pointing out the irony of your post here. I've bolded the part of your message that is literally what Tim Allen has been telling his Hollywood friends for 30 years essentially the "Flip side" of your statement here. Yet, just before this statement you said you agree with little to nothing he says.
It's not an accident that he has Jay Leno on his current show now. Both these comedians feel a need to push back against the lack of balance in entertainment when it comes to this stuff. Personally I think they are correct. Comedy, especially, is great when both sides get roasted.
And for the record. Allen is not staunchly conservative. He considers himself an economic conservative and socially liberal or at least "center-left" socially. He has described himself as a center-right person for two decades or more. Leno is Allen's center-left counterpart in some ways, he's economic conservative but a bit more socially liberal than Allen considers himself.
