A lot of good names (maybe not Ray Romano). Also, a lot of names that will draw me to a show.

JK Simmons used to be one of my go to answers but he now has the recognition.

More names-
Daniel Radcliffe (he is no longer just Potter)
Alan Tudyk
Clifton Collins Jr
Tim Roth
Emmy Rossum
Ming Na-Wen
Is it too soon to say Jodie Whittaker?

PS- Kurt rivals Harrison for best/coolest roles ever played.

if you haven't seen it, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is an excellent movie with young Tim Roth and young Gary Oldman.

Richard Roxburgh is my clear #1

I thought he was Gary Oldman in moulin Rouge in his role as the mark

His show Rake from Australia is a brilliant show on the flixnet

Tobias Funke

Not sure if anyone here used to listen to Ten Minute Podcast back in their glory days, but they absolutely ruined Paul Giamati for me

Lot of great names and I agree with a ton of them - always kind of on the lookout for that guy, the chartr actors who can sell anything - John C. Reilly back in the day. Philip Seymour Hoffman, William H. Macy, etc.

A lot of big names, one I have not seen mentioned is a little less of a big name

Lee Pace

He is from Klein HS in Spring and went to Julliard.

I know he has really done quite a few things of late but I never think he gets the recognition he should. But look how varied his career is:

Pushing Daisies - near cult level show, very reserved but witty role
GotG - Roman and he is in Capt. Marvel too
Halt and Catch Fire -just a great TV show and a really complex character (also Scoot McNairy and Kerry Bische)
The Hobbit - Thandruil the Elvenking

Radcliffe and Tudyk are good names.

Can Hoffman be underrated if he was nominated for 4 Oscars and won one? He has more acting nominations than most of the rest of those mentioned combined.

Hugo Weaving, he was vicious towards that lovable pig and you still end up liking him at the end of the movie. He really disappeared into the character.

My answer to this used to be Sam Rockwell

^THIS great answer.... well known now but he has been sort of out of the main spotlight and yet amazing for a long time. First came to my attention in a big way in the Green Mile of course and then absolutely killed me in Galaxy Quest. Been watching him ever since.

Yes but he was kind of under the radar I think for 10-15 years. I think it was hard to find roles he was good for the lead in. So he was a consummate role player but sooooo good.

Scent of a Woman was the first time I noticed him - small role but great. that was a hallmark for him. He could be a small but very memorable part of big movies and even ensembles.

He is my favorite part of a bunch of movies some good, some great, some bad but still loved him:

Boogie Nights - I've never seen someone so gloriously uncomfortable in their own skin as Scotty J was. glorious
Almost Famous - great as Lester Bangs the Rolling Stone guy
Along Came Polly - I man he has maybe 10 minutes in this movie and just kills (basketball scene, the play, omg so much)
Charlie Wilson's War - so great just chews up the screen really in a great sarcastic way
Red Dragon - such a great slimy role
The Big Lebowski - Brandt the butler
Twister - stupid movie but he was wittily clever
Hunger Games movies - really did not like them but he elevated his part of Plutarch
bunch of smaller comedies - Punch Drunk Love, Patch Adams, Nobody's Fool, etc.

when he had the lead he killed:
Capote - just owned it
Doubt - wow

Casey is probably a better actor than his brother. Just not as charismatic, which is why Ben is a leading actor.

Yea. Casey is way more versatile...and not a raging d bag, either.

Folks who have one Oscars are not underrated. Chris Cooper won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar and Gary Oldman literally just won Best Actor last year among numerous other awards over the years.

Come on people.

You mean Cletus Van Damme? If there was a cable channel that just showed The Shield all day I would never do any work.

Tony Franklins Other Shoe
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Jason Bateman.

He has played characters all over the map.

From tiny bit parts to the lead knocking it out of the park. Favorite of mine is Bad Words.
