It's a documentary about the kidnappings (yes that's plural) of actress Jan Broberg when she was a kid in the 70's.

Anybody seen this? Anybody have to stop and make sure it wasn't a parody/mockumentary? Her parents....are you serious?!?!?! It's almost unbelievable. That level of naivete/stupidity should be criminal!!

I watched like 5 minutes as I fell asleep last night, and I remember being really confused... It basically seemed like the parents were like, "Well we didn't want to call the police and be a burden on anyone"

We watched last night. Weird AS. Someone here called her an "actress." Didn't know she was anyone beyond this matter.

Wife and I just wondered why these people, ESPECIALLY the parents, would sit there and tell these unbelievably embarrassing stories of their past.

It seemed to me that they walked right up to the edge of saying that they had an ongoing homosexual relationship but never quite got there. That stated, that was literally the moment I stopped the movie to make sure I wasn't watching a mockumentary. You could have knocked me over with a feather when he told that story about 'boys being boys' and how he just got smooth talked into reaching over and giving B an HJ. I was fully expecting him to say that he knocked his teeth out or at the very least just got out of the car and walked home but the way he just so casually described doing what he did like it was just an every day, run of the mill mistake was mind blowing.

Agree with the 3 posts above.

100% convinced B was banging both the mom and the dad for years. His being dead allowed them to carefully protect themselves while also acknowledging the types of acts they did and my guess is the FBI Agent wasn't going to spill any dirt just to do it.

Hard to imagine having normal people's weakest moments and biggest regrets (cheating on a spouse) thrown in your face forever because it was used as an opportunity to get to your daughter. I am already deeply ashamed when I give my buddies handys.

Just a crazy story all the way around.

Weird thing is the whole time I felt Jan had to be an actress because she looks so familiar. Turns out she is but when I IMDB her, there's nothing she was in that I have seen.

That and her dad looks familiar like I've seen him in movies too.

It was pretty disturbing and I thought, "Man these parents are really naive."

And then the dad was like, "So, I helped him get relief..." And I then WTF.

And then the dude kidnaps the girl and takes her to Mexico and 'marries' her and then AFTER that the mom starts an 8 month long affair with the guy?

I loled at the hj confession for a solid 5 minutes. His face and mannerisms were just so classic. I sent texts to my friends "advance to 21 mins in Abducted in Plain Sight". Responses were all "lol! Wtf!!"

I couldn't see how the fbi didn't turn around and nail them for a false report after signing those extorted affidavits.

We turned it off at about 46 mins. It was too sick for me.

I have not seen the documentary, but just reading the comments on this thread is sufficient for me to know that the subjects are not representative of any Mormons I know. There are idiots in every church just as there are in any organization. Let's not make sweeping generalizations about a whole religion because of the subject matter.
