The Social Network released on October 1, 2010.

June 28, 2010 = the first teaser (no footage, online only)

July 16, 2010 = the first trailer

The Social Reckoning releases on October 9, 2026.

If they follow roughly the same schedule as the first movie, this being a Sony movie, Sony has Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026, which would obviously make for a big, splashy trailer release.

That said, late July feels... super late for a first trailer, so who knows. Maybe we get something in June?

It didn't have the same vibe at all in my opinion. I realize it's a different director, different cast, etc., but this doesn't even feel in the same universe as the original. I loved the first one. This one just doesn't seem all that interesting to me.

Looks rather lame. Which is unfortunate, because the original was a modern day Citizen Kane (both in execution and in plot).

To the extent this movie is going to serve as a platform for rehabilitating Zuckerberg's/Facebook's culpability in suppressing right-leaning voices during COVID and the lead up to the 2020 election, or lamenting the events of January 6 as on par with Pearl Harbor or 9/11...it will be unwatchable. The original didn't lecture the audience...from the previews of the sequel, I am afraid that's all it will do.

I'm guessing they will brush over the depression, suicidal, and dysfunction the platform has caused with young people world wide while completely avoiding any responsibility for silencing right wing info and the truth that they were pushing leftist narratives because of them being in bed with democrats. They will package it as "we at Facebook did wrong on behalf of both sides."

Looks like another well made repackaging of the truth. Pass.

1. This trailer is so much better than the one that just dropped for the new movie. It makes me want to go watch the original again.

Lol, guys I'm 50 and half deaf and need to watch everything on my tv with CC, but I had zero problems understanding what she said. And I'm not going to jump on the "That Sux!" train. But then again, while I thought the first one was really good good, I don't deify it.

Same here. But Sorkin can be a bit overindulgent and may need a counterbalance.
I believe Fincher provided that in the Social Network.

Might be a weird nitpick but Strong has too straight/flat of hair for the Jew-fro short haircut. Zuck's a weird guy but he just doesn't look that dumb.

I think he might be overdoing the robotic autism a little too. Again, Zuck is weird but this looked like Nathan Fielder at his most (intentionally) cringe.
