In some ways, people are more in your face on these boards than they are in real life. I almost never talk politics at work, on Facebook, or anywhere else, unless it's with somebody I know is on the same page. And if I do, I try to do so as delicately as I can. But on TexAgs (especially the political board) you can let your frustrations and opinions fly. It's somewhat therapeutic. I know there are people on the political board who think I am a grade-A a-hole. But I think that if they met me in real life (and didn't know my TexAgs persona) they would think I was a swell dude.
I suspect a lot of people on that board are the same.
I will offer this to consider. You are your online persona as much as your real life one, and people will judge you for your actions in either sphere.
I'm saying a person's character is their actions, regardless of where they do it.
