Looks like two good reasons to me!

I just finished the season and hate how the season abruptly ended like it was the end of an episode rather than any sense of season finale.

That's probably my biggest gripe with the netflix era of shows. Many that only should go on a season or two, try to keep extending them so they can have another season. This is definitely one of them.

I have been watching this for the past week. First season was good. This second season was not the same feel, and also had less episodes, which is why it may seem it ended abruptly on a cliffhanger. I know this series is on cable tv USA network, but I agree that in this day and digital streaming age, there is no need for cliffhangers as season finales. Wrap up your story, and set up something for a next possible season. British tv series do this quite well.

They didn't intend for it to end that way. Ryan Phillippe broke his leg so they couldn't film the last two episodes. I read somewhere that the beginning of season three is supposed to pick up at the end of S2 to close the loop.
