Yes, I realize there's a similar thread already, but A) I do this thread every year, and B) a decent number of people here seem to look to these lists for recommendations / movies they might have missed, and I figure more titles can be covered here than the single favorite movie thread for that very purpose.

So, without further ado...

01. Blade Runner 2049
02. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
03. The Post
04. Lady Bird
05. Dunkirk
06. I, Tonya
07. Logan
08. War for the Planet of the Apes
09. The Big Sick
10. The Disaster Artist

That said, I just got out of Phantom Thread and I have a feeling that over time it may creep into my top ten. Such a great movie with a hell of a weird ending that I think I'm going to love the more I sit with it. I could probably trade it out for The Disaster Artist, which I loved, but need to see again because I'm afraid the incredible audience/atmosphere at my showing may have heightened the actual movie itself for me... or not. Either way, for now...

Honorable Mention (in ascending order):
Phantom Thread
Thor: Ragnarok
The Beguiled
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Wind River
Call Me By Your Name
Baby Driver
Mudbound
Only the Brave
The Florida Project
The Lost City of Z
Get Out
Logan Lucky
Molly's Game
American Made

Potential candidates I haven't yet seen / will see relaitvely soon:
All the Money in the World
Battle of the Sexes
Brad's Status
Good Time
Hostiles
The Shape of Water

What's everyone else's top ten? Or at least top five if you can't come up with ten.

I thought it was really good, one of the most beautifully shot films I've ever seen, but suffered from being 30 minutes too long and the 3rd act got really sloppy imo.

Still in my top 10 of the year and probably top 5.

I think CoCo was the only movie I saw in a theatre. Surprisingly thought it was outstanding.

Also saw Baby Driver, which I liked but Diane love and The Big Sick, which was good but I expected more from all the hype.

In no particular order...

Baby Driver
Logan
Blade Runner 2049
Coco
Get Out
War for the Planet of the Apes
Thor Ragnarok
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
Spider-Man: Homecoming
The Last Jedi

Honorable mention to John Wick 2, Kong Skull Island, and the movie itself was just ok but I loved the world of Atomic Blonde.

Still need to see Okja, Shape of Water, Mother, The Big Sick, Wind River, Dunkirk.

4) Baby Driver
5) Wind River
6) Mother!
7) John Wick 2
8) The Disaster Artist
9) Logan
10) War For The Planet of the Apes

If you asked me 10 times, you'd probably get 10 different variations of this. My top 3/4 are basically interchangeable. Personally, I think this was a great year for movies. And there's so many I still need to see...

Lady Bird
The Florida Project
The Big Sick
I, Tonya
3 Billboards
Mudbound
Logan Lucky
Molly's Game
American Made
All The Money In The World
The Shape of Water
Darkest Hour
A Ghost Story
Coco

Unfortunately it seems like its tougher to go to the movies as much as I like or used to

Same. Mine is definitely not a concrete as I'd like it to be, and a few could totally be switched out with a couple that didn't make the cut. Also forgot Mother!. I've definitely warmed on the tone over time. Adding it to my honorable mentions.

Thank you for allowing this dad of young kids to vicariously live through you guys all year. I don't even think I've watched ten movies total in the theaters the past three years.

But I do use the wisdom/reviews of this board to make sure I choose good ones when I do get the chance to watch one.

Split didn't get a lot of love on here most likely since it was released so long ago, but I almost included it in my top 10. Thought it was really good, and nice to see Shyamalan still has gas in the tank.

And it was worth it alone for McAvoy's performance. He was fantastic.

Still haven't seen Split yet. Super interested, though. Will do so at some in preparation for Glass, the Unbreakable/Split sequel that hits in about a year.

Agree with Sex P above mostly.... McAvoy was amazing but the movie was just ok really for me. Lot of potential but just not great.

Many of the movies y'all rated in your top 10 were were never shown in our mid sized town. It's frustrating. We have about 15 screens and I think 12 of them are showing Star Wars The Last Jedi, just to give you an idea about what we are dealing with here.

5 for me, apparently.

Thor Ragnarok
Spider-Man Homecoming
Kong Skull Island
The Last Jedi

Since it doesn't quite fit in with the above theme, I won't rank it, but Battle of the Sexes was decent.
