Yes, I realize there's a similar thread already, but A) I do this thread every year, and B) a decent number of people here seem to look to these lists for recommendations / movies they might have missed, and I figure more titles can be covered here than the single favorite movie thread for that very purpose.
So, without further ado...
01. Blade Runner 2049
02. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
03. The Post
04. Lady Bird
05. Dunkirk
06. I, Tonya
07. Logan
08. War for the Planet of the Apes
09. The Big Sick
10. The Disaster Artist
That said, I just got out of Phantom Thread and I have a feeling that over time it may creep into my top ten. Such a great movie with a hell of a weird ending that I think I'm going to love the more I sit with it. I could probably trade it out for The Disaster Artist, which I loved, but need to see again because I'm afraid the incredible audience/atmosphere at my showing may have heightened the actual movie itself for me... or not. Either way, for now...
Honorable Mention (in ascending order):
Phantom Thread
Thor: Ragnarok
The Beguiled
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Wind River
Call Me By Your Name
Baby Driver
Mudbound
Only the Brave
The Florida Project
The Lost City of Z
Get Out
Logan Lucky
Molly's Game
American Made
Potential candidates I haven't yet seen / will see relaitvely soon:
All the Money in the World
Battle of the Sexes
Brad's Status
Good Time
Hostiles
The Shape of Water
What's everyone else's top ten? Or at least top five if you can't come up with ten.
