Michael Shannon does Michael Shannon which was great. Amazing visual and practical effects. The lead actress was really good despite not speaking, very vocal in her own way through signing and facial expressions. Kind of off putting the manbeast and woman action but sure. Just beautifully shot
I meant to post last night after watching.
The movie is very pretty to look at, well-directed, and well-acted by all parties. Overall, I thought it was a good movie. (Not great.)

This movie is straight up about bestiality. It's truly bizarre. People were actually laughing during the first "love scene".
It's just kind of odd to me that nobody really seems to be talking about this.

I didn't want to see it at all because it just didn't look interesting to me, and I haven't enjoyed a Del Toro movie in a while.
Then I started hearing about how great it was, so it piqued my interest again.

Exact same for me. The trailers didn't really do much for me. Only saw it because of all the awards buzz it was getting.
It's Beauty and the Beast.. for adults. Very basic script with phenomenal performances and great direction. I very much enjoyed it.
