LMAO if they lose.

If the Dodgers win, that'd be a pretty good movie as well.

The Naked Gun umpire scene is still gold today. The fact that I can still remember the name Enrico Palazzo says it all.

The Mantle/ Maris movie starring Thomas Jane and ___ Pepper was great, too.

i think there was some mildly bad language and maybe some drug references (i remember a talk about the 60's), but i don't remember anything too bad. i'd probably watch it again before watching it my kids, just to be safe.

I was going to say I can't believe anyone mentioned Long Gone. Then I saw who posted.

When pitching, I'd slide into the mound sometimes because of that movie.

Eight Men Out - By far, my favorite baseball movie. Incredible telling of the 1919 Black Sox team. John Cusack is fantastic as 3rd Baseman Buck Weaver. Charlie Sheen, D.B. Sweeney, Christopher Lloyd, and John Mahoney are also excellent.

Major League - A great baseball comedy in the first half of the movie turns into a great baseball story in the second half. Can't not like Tom Berenger as veteran catcher Jake Taylor. Great performances as well from Charlie Sheen, Wesley Snipes, Corbin Bernsen, Dennis Haysbert, and Rene Russo.

The Bingo Long Traveling All Stars and Motor Kings - A somewhat forgotten baseball comedy focused on the Negro Leagues. Filmed in the 70's, it was a bit of a cross between a baseball comedy and a blaxploitation movie that wasn't PC and probably couldn't get made in today's environment. Billy Dee Williams is great as Star pitcher Bingo Long who takes on the Negro League ownership establishment. James Earl Jones and Richard Pryor round out the main cast.

Yes, I left out Field of Dreams, but only because I love those two baseball comedies. Those who prefer dramas over comedies would definitely include this Kevin Costner/James Earl Jones/Ray Liotta masterpiece in the Top 3.

I also think Moneyball, The Natural, A League of Their Own, The Pride of the Yankees, One in a Million: The Ron LeFlore Story, The Babe, and Cobb deserve strong consideration as top baseball movies.

Everyone always mentions Costner, but it seems like James Earl Jones has quite the baseball resume.

I highly recommend The Battered *******s of Baseball, a great baseball documentary. You'll learn how Kurt Russell turned out to be so awesome, because his dad was awesome.

If we're including documentaries, all baseball lovers should see "Baseball" by Ken Burns.

Since no one has mentioned it yet a good baseball film is Fear Strikes Out with Anthony Perkins playing The Red Sox Jim Pearsall. It was a role he played just before playing Norman Bates in Psycho and almost helped typecast him in the crazy man role.

Another old one I haven't seen mentioned with a young Robert DeNiro starring is Bang the Drum Slowly.

I saw the Sandlot in my early 20s. Hated it because of the end.

Saw it last year with my son and his scout troop on the bus to camp.

Loved it.

Half of Major League is the best.

Any scene with Renee and Jake Taylor, well, bad is a nice word.
