If you took the rom com out of Bull Durham you'd still have a movie about a hot shot rook trying to make it to the show and a washed up PTBNL showing him the ropes.

The Sandlot is a coming of age movie with a baseball setting. Field of Dreams is a fantasy movie with a baseball setting. You can play that game a lot.

Iconic music though.

I actually thought the depiction of 1920's baseball was great in The Natural. The story itself was mythological, not everyone's cup of tea.
