depends on how in depth you want to go. The Wikipedia entries, by season are pretty good to make sure you are getting the main points.

Watching with my wife (her first run through) and she's reading these wiki's before each episode. It's infuriating...lol.
- She gets up right before a key person dies
- 'where are you going...you're about to miss something crazy'
- 'oh I already read what happens'

Weird thing is even with reading about everything I'm having to explain key points that she's not catching. I mean key things. I'd post examples but considering I think I quoted someone watching for the first time I won't.

Now that is a idea.

HBO has done such a great job in eliminating unnecessary GRRM arcs/characters and in some cases bridging multiple characters/arcs together to keep the series moving.

In ADWD there was a faceless man at the Citadel when Sam shows up. He killed an old master (f'ing spell check won't let me spell it correctly) and a new one in training. Books did not progress to the point of why.

A faceless man at Winterfell, even Jaquen, probably hired by Cersei or maybe some other nefarious cause, would be an interesting twist.

With six episodes left I doubt it but you never know.

Good info! I was thinking about asking for a pod but I think reading a recap is more practical.

I'm a little constrained on time having a 18 month old. I only have time for one episode a night. I'll have to really knock some out on the weekends.

I just want to be live for the finale. Anything else is bonus.

Whoever said Jon and Dany were probably edited out for the trailers is spot on. Betting these shots are when Jon is taking his first flight, with Dany guiding him. Could even be the end of the first episode.
