Doing big venues, as usual. Arlington is shown as sold out, Houston not.

U2 is political. Always have been.
Hasn't stopped me from enjoying their music.
no problem with them being political in their music. We are there to hear their songs -the good and the bad.jeffk said:

This. I probably won't get to this show, but I've seen them three times and they're an incredible show every time.Clarke95 said:
They have ALWAYS spoken their "political drivel" between songs. This isn't new. I don't get people demanding they "stop talking about ending poverty being our moonshot and sing your non political song Bullet the Blue Sky!"
They are an AMAZING live show and I cannot wait.
Their "drivel" just happens to be what they are passionate about, which also happens to be the inspiration for their songs, which happens to be what you want to listen to. They are interrelated. One is an extension of the other. If you have been a fan of the band for any amount of time, you probably should have already made that connection. By all means, though, keep wishing them to be something they have never been.Quote:

I have no interest in them spewing their drivel between songs.
Shut up and sing, indeed.
I did not ask them not to be political in their music; I asked that I not have to hear their political drivel between songs.walton91 said:Their "drivel" just happens to be what they are passionate about, which also happens to be the inspiration for their songs, which happens to be what you want to listen to. Bono has an audience of literal MILLIONS to express his opinions to, and some of you want him to "shut up and sing."
Meanwhile, you have an audience of like 7 TexAgs posters and you shoehorn politics into half of your posts.

I'm going Wednesday. Looking forward to it, even with all the political parts.
One question, what's the timing on the show? I would like to just take the light rail to and from NRG, but the wonderful Houston metro has the last train at 11:30PM, or thereabouts. I just can't see Uber being anything other than a cluster after this.
