To me there where only two big issues. Jamie not dying and robbing ten minutes from me.....
Otherwise it was an overflowing of awesomeness.

I don't care how sharp it is, or how strong the arm wielding it is, I don't see anyone cutting off a horse's leg in One swipe while on horseback.
Daario did it earlier in the series in that one on one battle.

But yeah, probably would be pretty difficult

Actually Daario just threw his dagger into the horses eye causing it to collapse and throw the rider to his feet where he decapitated him with his sword.

No one has mentioned Cerci s plan to hire the gold company. Not sure if that will come to fruition or if it was a pointless aside.

At this point I hope cerci dies somewhere between episode 7 and 9.
There's a chance Daario comes back with the Golden Company in betrayal of Dany.

So let's assume Jamie is captured/rescued - that sets up quite a dilemma.

So you could assume that he could be used to either stall Cersei or trade for Yara/Ellaria. But
a. I don't think it would cause Cersei to yield in any way....sorry Jamie that B is Cra.
b. I don't think Dany wants to trade him at all - she needs all Lannisters dead. She cannot leave them alive as a threat.
c. I don't think you can even trust him if he were to swear allegiance to Dany.

So that then also causes an issue for Tyrion as adviser. If Dany wants Jamie dead.....Tyrion owes Jamie his life and although he wants Cersei dead and Dany to win I doubt he wants Jamie killed so callously. Like he would have been fine if he died in a battle but he doesn't want to have to deal with that directly. You saw Tyrion telling him to "flee you idiot" during the battle because he knows what an awkward position that puts him in.

Same goes for Bronn really because he has saved Tyrion's life before as well.

Tyrion is about to be in a no win situation and if he betrays Dany in any way....well his life may be...ahem...short.

Cersei forsakes Jaime for failing. He lost their food and their army. This compounds onto what he already knows and was told by Olenna. Jaime turns against her after she leaves him to die at the hands of their enemies.

No. Gold had already made it into King's Landing. This was the rear of the escort column that was straggling behind with some grain/food

The gold make it to KL before the attack.

So it also wasnt the bulk of the Lannister army and it wasn't the best most likely. Gives them some reprieve.

I thought Daario was with the Second Sons, not the Golden Company? Reading the ASOIAF wiki, it seems they are both sellswords, but not the same. The Second Sons is a much smaller sellsword (2000 men) vs the Golden company (10000 men).

Still, 10,000 men vs the dothraki and 3 dragons doesn't seem to increase Cersei's odds to me.

Link to Golden Company wiki, may contain book spoilers

Not gonna lie, felt bad for the guys standing there in the front row shaking as a Dragon and a horde of cavalry came barreling down on them

Makes you wonder about their training. How bad was the punishment that they would be willing to stand there with the Dothraki and a dragon coming at them?

why make Jamie invulnerable against a dragon? GRRM would never save someone from doing something that foolhardy.

Jamie has to survive to do something that only he can do. so that just confirms the witch's prophecy (and likely outcome).

Agree that GRRM may not have let all the main cast members get away unscathed. Would have been interesting to see Bronn take the napalm bath in Jamie's stead.

Best scene so far?

When Drogon appeared out of the mist and unleashed fire.

We'd been waiting forever for that scene. My wife, who never says anything during shows quietly said,"Oh, Hell yeah!"

i think my favorite part was randyll tarly asking to flog the stragglers and jamie being like nah that's not exactly required and then randyll pretty much calling him a "p****" with a stare

oh and randyll tarly is uncle geoffrey from bridget jones which is great

Wouldn't it have made more sense for Dany to napalm strike the soldiers and capture the wagons for herself?

She's a woman driver. Hell, I'm amazed that she hasn't backed Drogon into a curb or knocked one of his side mirrors off yet.

I laughed WAAAY to hard at this.

Amazing episode.

Also, I have never cared about what goes on behind scenes but I devour all the extra stuff for this show. It is incredible to see the care and pains shooting all of this go into effect. Having 20 simultaneous stuntman burns was intense and just watching the actual stunt itself when they were counting down the shot as the men are engulfed in flames had me in the edge of my seat.

What an amazing time to be alive.

Also watched the Brienne / Arya swordplay 5-6 times and happy that Arya may finally become relevant to the story.

If GRRM was going to preserve Jaime, he wouldn't have him charging Dany while Drogon was looking away. Show writers did it just to add an element of danger/ surprise.

Randyll Tarly was Pope Sixtus in Da Vinci's Demons as well. He was good in that but you frequently had to endure seeing his peen as he was always walking around naked.

My hope for Littlefinger's ultimate demise. Arya snagged her mother's face while at House Frey and uses it to terroize LF. Like ghost in the castle haunting him stuff before eventually putting that dagger through his smug arse face

i think what i'm saying is that GRRM wouldn't push tension without having the endgame make sense

quentyn martell tries to tame a dragon, he's bathed in dragonfire, despite four full POV chapters

you do something stupid, you burn (in the books)

Don't forget that Jamie has another title... Kingslayer. Dany might be a bit miffed about that one.
