Watching Say Anything (great movie) with my daughter, and I'm reminded of the annual John Cusack Film Festival we used to have in college. Great actor. Great movies.

Better Off Dead is my favorite Cusack movie. I've heard that over the years he has refused to discuss it though because he is/was embarrassed about it.

BTW - Ione Skye is terrible in this movie.

One step above Sofia Coppola, but only barely.

High Fidelity is my favorite from him, and one of my all time faves.

It was probably the claymation scene that did it. God that was awful. The rest he was consistently Cusak.

i recently enjoyed him as old Brian Wilson in Love and Mercy.

Grosse Point Blank fo sho. Classic Cusack. Followed very closely by High Fidelity.

No list is complete without Stand by Me.

Definitely a favorite of mine with some noted bias because I'm a child of the 80s.

I love reading a review of a movie saying John Cusack phoned it in... I'm like "oh sweet, so I get 'John Cusack' in this movie, take my money!"

Top 5 Film all time for him.

Better Off Dead, Grosse Pointe Blank, and Con Air are my favorites by a wide margin. Pushing Tin and Must Love Dogs were good too.

PS: Serendipity. Watch it every year around Christmas with my wife.

What?!? That scene was so awesome! It was intentionally horrible which makes it great.

Oh, and I don't think he hates it as much as y'all think...hell, there was even a "two dollars" reference when he was on the slopes in Hot Tub Time Machine.

Frankly, not sure how Better Off Dead isn't in OP's top five. It's an absolute classic.

Serendipity is a great little flick, but mostly because I like looking at Kate Beckinsale for two hours.

Once Crazy Summer is another classic 80's comedy with Cusack that I love.

Oh, and if we're gonna throw in Stand By Me, then we have to add Sixteen Candles too.
