My biggest issue with ET is how Spielberg altered it to be politically correct back in 2002, replacing the police officer's guns with walkie talkies. I hated that.

The original release was an emotional movie that was very well done. But for me, 1982 was one of those 1994 kind of years, so many great movies. The Thing, Blade Runner, Conan the Barbarian, The Road Warrior, Poltergeist, Star Trek II - the Wrath of Khan, Firefox .....

My final 4 is still intact!

Back to the Future wins it all.

A lot of people's favorite will depend on their age.

I was 11 when Star Wars came out. Game over.

Especially compared to crap we had before that. Animated movies were crap (the Aristocats, Charlotte's Web). Sci if was generally low budget crap. Adventure movies were things like The Worlds Greatest Athlete. I mean other than the little kid stuff like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or Benji or Herbie movies.Planet of the Apes is the best thing I can think of prior to that for a kid and some of the sequels were entertaining at least - still low budget.

7 years old when Empire strikes back came out....it brought OB1 back to life....introduced Yoda....Froze Han F. Solo.....chopped off Luke's Hand....Best Movie experience of my life!
