quote:You're right. I don't know what I was thinking.
Wow, is that right? Are you counting Empire and Jedi as Lucas?
quote:As will I. And yeah, BTTF is a really great movie, but it is no where near Raiders.
+1 for Alien
If BTTF beats out Raiders I will be very disappointed in Texags

Now, if Hangover beats Gladiator, I WILL have to choke a *****.

Tough call - one is certainly better quality, but I'm not sure it is more memorable.

I didn't really have any doubts when voting between the available options, until I got to Godfather vs Jaws
I dunno. I just couldn't decide
quote:You could pick any four at random and have a damn good list. The '70s was the most difficult for me to narrow down to five and I cheated counting the two Godfather films as one. Heck you can make a damn good list from films that did not make the cut; The Exorcist, American Graffiti, Young Frankenstein, The Deer Hunter, . . .
Yeah...back to a thread about to 90s being the best decade....I argued for the 70s.
Tell me which decade has a better final 4 than
Star Wars
Alien
Godfather
Jaws
quote:Yup, I thought the same thing. The opening battle scene is obviously fantastic, but the rest of the movie is not all that special.
I get that Saving Private Ryan is good... but beating Jurassic Park... come on

quote:Honestly don't understand the love for Jurassic Park. Enjoyable entertainment, excellent F/X but overall that is all it is for me. Maybe it is a generational thing with seeing it as a kid having a much larger impact. For example, as an adult I'll concede that Jaws is a superior film in comparison to Close Encounters but the wow factor of seeing it on the big screen as a kid has just stuck with me so that I still like it more.
