So apparently Osama Bin Laden was an anime fan and even had the Naruto games. Not sure I want to finish Naruto now... though the fillers might be enough reasons.

So I took my 10 year old daughter last night to see Spirited Away on the big screen. Missed the first part of the Astros game for this, but it was worth every minute. It's one of her favorite movies. I'll definitely be seeing Howl's Moving Castle later this month.

Because it is Japan and most anime shows switch their theme up halfway through a long season (25 episodes or so)
My personal favorites are: Kill la Kill, One Punch Man, AoT (manga getting all weird and stuff) JoJo's Bizare adventure, and I watched My Hero Acedmia
You're tearing me apart- Tommy Wiseau

You have to be careful because some animes will spoil the entire arc in the opening credits(see fairy tail).

Started watching Devilman Crybaby. I like the plot, but it's got a lot of porn in it.

I mean I'm an adult and all, and I like shows made for adults, but old dudes like me watching anime is already viewed as being a little sketchy. If the wife walks in and I'm watcing some HBO show where two girls are getting it on, well it's just the newest highbrow show everyone is talking about. If she walks in while I'm watching an animated schoolgirl masterbate while fantasizing about a half-demon boy, well that might lead to an awkward conversation....

You're lucky. I get snide remarks about watching kids shows even when the content is relatively wholesome.

Just finished Kakegurui (Season 1 I assume) on Netflix. One of the weirdest anime series I've ever watched all the way through. The opening theme roped me in and I had to keep watching to see what happened next.

This came up in my suggested list, so it's on my radar now.

Finished Fate Apocrypha on netflix last night, if you enjoyed the UBW or Zero you'd like this one.

It goes into more depth how the Holy Grail system works and the story was quite different from the other Fates. But it still has a ton of awesome action scenes.

Hmm I may have to check that out. Though I'm looking forward to the final route that should be coming in a movie format.

PSA that the simuldub for the sequel series of Steins;gate launched today. Steins;Gate 0 is a true sequel to the original series(not just a spinoff). So hopefully it lives up to the first series.

I would recomend seeing episode 23Beta as it's the bridge to the original series even though it's not dubbed. Unfortunately I fear many will be lost the episode if they try to jump from the end of the original to 0.

So, I missed the start for it but Full Metal Panic Invisible Victory already started this season and has four episodes so far. And I crashed through them tonight. Right now it's only the sub to my knowledge out, but Funimtion apparently is getting the old dub crew back for this.

The season has really hit the ground running and is most definitely off to the races. It's also... darker this season. Especially in comparison to the first season and second raid/season, fumoffu was obviously really light hearted. First episode hooked me for the season.

This somewhat troubles me, even the 1st and 3rd seasons hs some very lighthearted moments. Part of it's appeal is the lighthearted/ comedic moments right among any serious scene. In my mind this is what seperated it from the other mech animes out there. Hopefully there will be some of those moments in this new season.

It's not Schwarzesmarken, or however it's spelled, dark but it's definitely more serious this season. There's some light hearted moments, but not like there was in the first season and second raid where those moments were very light hearted. Still good imo though.

But it's definitely a season where having a basis of the previous seasons helps.

Thanks! the first episode is dubbed but I realized I would be lost on the story so I think I'll rewatch the "serious" seasons before jumping in.

When I was in the Army, I had a Soldier who was a HUGE anime fan who always got pissed whenever I would call it "Japanimation." Good times.

SAO's Alicization arc is getting an adaptation. Not sure if it's a movie or series. I also haven't watched the Ordinal Scale movie yet.

Ordinal scale is excellent SAO material. It's different because it's augmented reality and not full dive, but they make the AR so immersive that it's pretty much VR. It's just funny at the beginning because Kirito is out of shape having to actually run in the real world. Try to see in in HD or 4k if you can because the artwork alone makes it worth watching.

I've been following the Steins;Gate 0 weekly and it's a great companion to the first. This one is about an Okabe that opted not to save Kurisu and developed PTSD as a result of the first series. The story is mostly building in the first half but it sure feels like the payoff is happening soon(just like the first one).

I also watched Deadman Wonderland and Assassination Classroom, DW is good but they left it without an ending so it's unsatisfying. AC is also good and different for all the highschool anime out there, there are some pretty funny parts to it as well.

I've started the most recent season of Full Metal Panic but I figured I would let it roll out with more episodes. With all the action and the story on this season, it seems like a good one to binge.

I'm thinking about starting Gundam, Iron Blooded Orphans or Tokyo Ghoul next. I've heard both are excellent.

It may not be news to anyone else, but I just noticed that there are some new Attack on Titan episodes. I got caught up last night and it seems like it's going in an interesting direction.

Fate/Zero was one of my favorites in college. I also binge watched the entire 95-episode season of Rurouni Kenshin my sophomore year at A&M.

It's following the manga, so they're in a part that's more political intrigue and less naked giants eating people.

If you haven't yet checkout Unlimited Blade Works it's definitely the spiritual successor to Fate/Zero.

I think I've seen it on the Netlfix listing so I might have to give it a shot. Netlfix has backed some quality anime thus far.

Also I'm about 17 episodes into Iron Blooded Orphans and I'm enjoying it immensely. Its a solid story so far and I'm getting nostalgia flashbacks to gundam wing when I was little. Though I am wondering if the main gundam pilot is a sociopath, either that or he's super cold blooded.

It's done by Production I.G., so the animation has been quality and story has been good too. In a way, it has some Psychopass vibes/beats to it, and I really enjoyed the first season of that show. The other seasons and movie not so much.

IBO took a little while for me to get into it, but even when the show gets slow it's still pretty damn good. A little predictable at times, but still solid. It takes some rather grim looks at things, and goes to places that no Gundam series has gone to, imo, save for Gundam 8th MS Team. Which is a fantastic series in and of itself.

I assume you mean the Battle of the Planets G-Force. Check out Gatchaman (the better Japanese original) if you haven't already.

Seven Deadly Sins latest season (24 episodes) is now on Netflix. Apparently Netflix has subtitled the season as the revival of the 10 commandments.

Cool. Been waiting on that.

I watched Gurren Lagann. It started out slow, silly, and frankly a little dumb. By the end it was awesome.

Watching Blue Exorcist right now. It's pretty good.
