man, i'm trying so hard to keep my expectations in check for this one.

this is certainly not the first time we've seen amazing reviews in advance of other DC movies that wound up sucking, so i can't help but feel like charlie brown trying to kick the football right before lucy yanks it away.

this one feels different though...between the production issues, the ezra stuff and the changes at DC, they could have easily scrapped it or gone straight to streaming. obviously they think they have something here...

No matter how hyped this movie is, I'll probably wait to watch it at home with low expectations. The Snyderverse has just flopped that hard with me. This looks like more of the same, and there are so many other movies I want to see this summer.

+ I'm more likely to enjoy the movie if I go in with low expectations than if I go in riding the hype.

So is Ezra Miller going to escape accountability within the industry simply because this movie is apparently good?

Miller will not be on the press tour, no. I have a friend in marketing at WB and that's what they told me as of a couple weeks ago. Said it was too bad because Miller's incredible in the movie, to the point of bringing this person to tears at one point - and this is someone who is not particularly a fan of superhero movies.

I think his gender fluidity and labeling all of these actions as a "mental health" crisis is going to be what gets him another chance. He'll blow it eventually because it's probably just his personality and not a crisis, which implies some sense of temporal transience.

Will some studio trust home with a blockbuster type role again? Probably not, but he won't be ostracized in Hollywood until something else happens

Those quotes are for Guardians 3. I didn't hear anything there regarding his Superman movie.

Having said that, yeah, Superman is going to be just fine in his hands. He has made 3 movies of varying levels of fantastic. I suspect that he has a reverence for many of these characters likely because he read the comics growing up.
