What I wasn't expecting was an entire plotline seemingly devoted to erasing Man of Steel from the DCEU altogether. I mean, again, on one hand it makes sense

To me it makes sense because it's almost like bookending the DCEU. Starts with Man of Steel, ends with Man of Steel's events.

So no cavil, but a new super girl character.
Again… read Flashpoint. The Superman in that comic is NOT the Superman you see in any other comic. This makes a ton of sense and is a smart way to introduce Supergirl.

Okay, wow. I haven't paid attention to any of this and was completely unaware of it until seeing this meme, doing a quick Google search, and finding this chronology: https://news.yahoo.com/ezra-miller-says-theyve-begun-102700460.html

What a freaking trainweck this guy is, or "they" are, as the linked article uses for the dude, to some confusion.

I've not enjoyed the DC stuff so I wasn't aware. What a nightmare for everyone involved in that movie.

I'm assuming they had filmed most of the movie before stuff got so bad with Miller? Otherwise, how could they not cut him and start over?

Also assume they're going for an openly gay, gender fluid, or ambiguously effeminate Flash in the first place, which is why he was cast?

That was actually my turnoff watching the Super Bowl trailer. I got totally sucked in by the Keaton Batman, which I have a huge soft spot for (both Keaton and his Batman portrayal), but every time the Flash's alter-ego came on I was like "yuck, what a weenie."

Now to find out he's certifiable and possibly a pedo as well. My guess is they kick him after this is released and just made the decision they had too much invested to do anything else. Seems like a little more background should have been done on this cat since there have apparently been issues going back a while.

Without spoiling anything, Flashpoint is literally the perfect story if you want to adjust the events of the universe to set up Gunn's DC and recast Barry

Nothing about Miller's role as Flash in justice league made me think Miller Flash was gay. Miller Flash never makes a pass at a guy, never makes a sexual or gender related comment, etc. I think Miller was cast because of nerdy dropout Gen Z gamer looks which is the direction they went with this Flash's backstory.

Knowing nothing, but Quantumania and Flash give off similar plot points vibes. Ant-Man wants to mess with the time stream to get time back he missed with his daughter which attracts and angers Kang who they have to prevent from killing all of time. Flash wants to mess with the time stream to get back his mom which attracts and angers someone who they have to prevent from killing all of time.

Yeah, and there was the whole subplot set up in Justice League (might have just been just the Snyder cut) where he saves/falls for Kiersey Clemons' character, who's in the The Flash as well. So Barry's definitely not meant to be gay.

For the first time, the "they' prounoun actually makes sense.

Supergirl doing the world a favor and throwing Ezra Miller out of the solar system.

Ezra Miller starring in the long-overdue sequel to Blades of Glory

Batwing

Obviously Bat-fleck, so do he and Keaton wind up in the same universe? Does that give us an absurdly faint hope that Bale shows up for triple the Bat? Or Chris O'Donnell as Robin? Or Joseph Gordon Levitt as kinda Robin Batman McWayne Wayne?

Some dummy brought a gun to a superhero fight.

Who the hell is this? Someone on the Internet claims it's Michelle Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle. I think it's Brent Spiner as Dr. Okun from Independence Day.

Drool leaking from corner of mouth

Chicks dig the car.

There are a couple shots from the first teaser, like the one below with the yellow lighting bolts being painted on red boots, that imply that in the Keaton timeline, the Barrys may very well use a couple of those Batsuits, paint them red, and fashion them to use as their own Flash suits for whatever reason...

Judging by the trailer, the Keaton verse Barry doesn't have powers, and normal Barry finds a way to recreate how he got his powers, and use the Keaton bat suits to fashion a Flash uniform.

After more recent Batman movies that gave us a moveable cowl it's so hard to see the Keaton version where he can't move his head independently.

I'll never forget the first time I saw the first teaser poster, Christmas '88. I was eight years old and my grandparents took me, my sister, and a cousin to the movies. I can't remember what we saw, but after the movie I vividly remember standing in the lobby, waiting for a family member to get out of the bathroom, and spotting the poster below, on the wall about 30 feet away. For whatever reason, though, my brain first registered it as an open mouth, with the gold being the teeth (and the gold at the top the two large front teeth). But then it suddenly snapped into focus, and I realized I was looking at a bat symbol - that I was looking at a poster for a new Batman movie - and I just about lost my mind. I remember freaking out to my grandma, and even she seemed like she was kind of into it. For the next six months I became absolutely obsessed with the movie, the first movie I truly remember being stoked to see...

Btw, it's kind of incredible that in the trailer, at least under the cowl, Keaton somehow looks maybe five years older than the last time we saw him in the role… 31 years ago. It looks like he hasn't gained a pound or missed a step, which is so cool to see. In all these legacy sequels, all the older heroes always look their age, and it's a big part of their plot/character. This is certainly no grizzled old hermit Luke scenario, though. This is Michael freaking Keaton as Batman, almost exactly as we remember him.

For the record, I'm almost positive Bruce will have aged 30-ish years in-universe. I'm just saying, Keaton has aged incredibly well, remained in remarkable shape, and through the use of stunt doubles and CGI and what not, they're basically going to be able to give us Batman as we remember him back then, in terms of the action.

I actually think (and as it looks from the trailer) we'll get much better than Batman '89 action considering how CG and digital doubles have advanced since then.

But yes, Keaton looks incredible for being 71 (?!).

I really don't want to be excited about The Flash because DC movies have been primarily underwhelming and because Ezra Miller appears to be a completely insufferable a-hole. Yet here we are.
