Right so maybe Bob has a bite mark like Jim's. He knows he'll slowly get sicker and turn. And if it doesn't matter if cannibals eat flesh from a bitten but still alive person, why do the terminites go to such extremes to drain "healthy" people's blood before they butcher them?

I think BigRob brought up a good question though: wouldn't the Termites have noticed a bite as they were cutting off/cooking the leg?

They notice it if he got bit in the leg

I'm definately of the opinion that lieutenant Carver is involved with the group that kidnapped Beth. No way you stay alive for 3-4 years, months or even days without being able to kill walkers. And after everything they've been thru they let their guard down constantly. It's so frustrating. Going into that zombie sludge basement was one of the stupidest things I've seen, isn't it possible there was walkers beneath the water? I also think Morgan saves the day eventually.

He was still wearing his army jacket. If he was bit in the should...

He didn't have the jacket on until nighttime at the church during the feast. He spent the day walkung back from the food bank in that shirt and khaki pants. If he'd have been bitten, you'd see something...at least blood. Especially considering that with his exertion of carrying/pulling the food in the trash can, his BP would be raised and he'd bleed more.

Just rewatched the episode on DVR.

All caught up.

Did anyone get the impression that Gareth might have known Bob? It just seemed like he said "Bob" an awful lot in their brief conversation. I went back and checked and it was only twice but it sure felt like a lot.

As for Gabriel I think he is some sort of elaborate man trap. Sort of like a modern day Siren. Screaming on rocks and luring people to their doom. There is a lot of symbolism going on with Gabriel.

I tend to think he was bitten, and that the Termites eating him afterward will mean...something. I just wonder if they'll address how they missed it, or if that question won't be addressed. I did notice that, after going outside, Bob was limping - making it seem like the bite was on a leg or foot. Of course, it might have been the non-eaten leg/foot.

If they're all already infected, how would cannibalism make it worse?

I also don't understand how a subsequent bite would turn someone unless they died first.

The infection has no affect unless you're dead.

The bite makes you die. Once you die, you turn.

He's lingering in the back, seems to be in a bit of pain, and his shirt is already stained. Plus, you have to have at least plot hole an episode. Seems reasonable to me.

After rewatching the last scene he tells Bob that he's the one that put them in the situation that they are in and it's cosmic just that it's his they are eating his leg. We don't know much about Bob except that he's a former army medic and all his former groups supposedly died with him the only one left.

Beginning of episode, they showed smoke still rising from Terminus.

And they were still dealing with Carol being back in the group, so it seems like only 1 or 2 days after Terminus exploded, so yeah, his face was healed up way too much.
I'm going to give them a pass on this one because I think they had to make sure he was recognizable to viewers. If his face was all battered and swollen, he might not have been recognizable.
Didn't we already decide that several months have passed since Terminus went up in flames? Morgan and the "no sanctuary" sign with weeds all over it...seems reasonable that his face healed some.

Also, I think Morgan might be in the black car with the cross on it that Daryl and Carol see speeding off... My thought is that those Xs on the trees were done by the people that have Beth, and Morgan was tricked the way Beth and Daryl were...

Morgan and the events happening now can be in two seperate timelines.

Agree with this. Loose shirt and big bloodstains on it already. Still thinking 50%+ chance he received a "minor" bite to be revealed.

As far as the dark water goes, I'd be worried about underwater walkers (swimmers?) as well as walker bacteria would swimming up my pee hole. Adrian's Undead Diary was big on discussing the danger of submerged undead.

They find the preacher only a day or two after leaving Terminus. The end of the previous episode shows Terminus burning in the background. This episode clearly began where the previous one left off based on their conversations.

Morgan's scene takes place in the future. You can tell because of all the vines that have grown up around the sign.

Another thing to point out is that Rick's group turned left at the sign that Rick altered with the mud. Morgan turned right.

Two large themes that have been bothering me. It seems they are sticking with the "Humans" are the real threat and not the Zombies. That seems way overplayed. Everyone would have figured out by now that their is strengths in numbers and not every group would end up being run by completely maniacal psychopaths.

The other item on a bit lighter note. Why has nobody made us of the trees? Couldn't you build a very safe sanctuary in the trees?

I was thinking the same thing, but then again, if you're up in a tree and it ends up surrounded by walkers, you're pretty well screwed.

By the reactions people had during the season on the farm and in the prison my guess is that's the reason they constantly keep running into groups run by psychos. I for one enjoyed the pace and philosophical
nature of the farm & prison episodes but most people seem to just want killing, zombie smashing, and psycho bad guys to make drama and kill.

Eugene's definitely full of crap. Why hasn't anyone in Washington already fixed everything? Is nobody as smart as Eugene?

Anyone else think Gareth was about to offer Bob some fried Bob leg?

I think part of the genius of the show is showing how fragile society is and that there are genuinely bad people out there. I think that was a big part of the story of Terminus -- good, welcoming people run the risk of being brutalized by stronger men and women. The world they live in would seem to favor the bold and strong. You can't just call the police when bad people show up.

Also, the more people you have in a group, the more risk you have of someone dying and becoming a walker in your midst. That probably limits group size to certain degree.

Humans are the real threat ... There isn't safety in numbers, there is starvation and disease in numbers. In a post-apocalyptic world in which the primary source of nourishment is scavenging large groups do not provide enough safety to outweigh the additional mouths to feed. Also, poor sanitation/hygiene will eventually lead to sickness (we already saw this in the prison) which can run rampant among a tightly packed group of individuals living together. So count me in the group that thinks Rick's party is getting too large. Needs to be 10 or less and we need a place holder for Beth.

Rick
Coral
Daryl
Carol
Glenn
Maggie
Michonne
Beth (upon her successful return and only so she can take care of the baby and be some eye candy ... maybe a nice love triangle with Daryl and Carol)

Everyone else needs to be shown the door. They are pretty much useless.

Slightly different spin, from my perspective. It's kind of a Lord of the Flies redux.

There are a lot of POTENTIALLY bad people out there, but society keeps the genie in the bottle. When SHTF, some true animals come out of their cages.

Cases in point from this show - the Governor was a simple, mild-mannered (accountant, iirc) before the Zombie outbreak. And they have bent over backwards to show that the Terminus folks started out motivated by altruism and compassion.

The book "One Second After" is a great (realistic) example of how quickly things would go to hell when the SHTF. People...even good people...become extremely desperate quickly.

I can see why the group would want to stay smaller and why they need to be so cautious of newcomers.
