Another good one to mention for me. Like I mentioned in my first post, I actually love scary movies and don't really get freaked out for the most part. Usually you can see what's coming a mile away so I don't get too bothered. For some reason though (maybe I just wasn't paying attention very well), I was really surprised in one scene from the ring that messed me up a bit. It was toward the beginning, when they're at the service for the first chick who died. As the mom is telling the story, all of a sudden there's a flashback to finding the girl in the closet with that messed up face.

I thought the movie overall was pretty weak and overall dumb, but man that part caught me. Avoided my closet at all costs for a week.

Most of mine have already been mentioned.

F you, clown.

Watched Jaws as a young child. Am in my 40's now and still do not like the ocean.

This is still one of the creepiest images I can remember from my childhood.

The entire live action Alice in Wonderland from 1985 scared the **** out of me.

Particularly the dragon.

Had a lot of fun after that movie came out. One of my buddies was a little freaked out by it, so I found a screen saver that was just TV static and put it on his computer and we would take turns randomly calling his dorm room and just whispering "6 DAYS!" or which ever day we were on. He didn't sleep that whole week, it was great.

+1 for Jaws. I am still scared of open water.

I participate in a lot of water sports but even open water in a lake freaks me out and everytime I fall on the wakeboard or kneeboard or tube I freak out a little bit

IT and child's play.

That and The Ring.

Something about that movie and the music and the imagery with the girl and the horses just freaked me out.

How old are you if the ring terrorized you as a child?

Oh... sorry.

It and Child's Play were childhood scares.

I saw The Ring in college and it still freaked me out.

I was in middle school when it came out, but I imagine if I was younger that some scenes in Jurassic Park would have scared the crap out of me.

William Shatner opening his airplane window shade and seeing that disturbing-as-hell face staring at him. Freaked me the hell out.

One of the scariest moments from the Twilight Zone.

I saw the Bugs Bunny episode before I saw the Twilight Zone one, so the effects were kind of lost on me.

My parents split and when we were young we would goto my dad's and watch horror movies I was about 10 when I saw candy man. I couldn't piss and then look in the mirror for weeks. Ammytville horror I had nightmares for weeks. Poltergeist is the reason I hate horror movies with children. Also IT and clowns from outer space

I don't watch them anymore any horror movies. I hate clowns now and anything associated with horror movies.

Thanks dad.

As a kid, it was Rosemary's Baby. Normal looking grandparent types that were devil worshippers freaked me out.

As an adult, the Japanese movie Audition. Yikes, preventive cure for dating in the modern age.

Robocop messed me up. I think I was 9 when I watched it with my Dad. I made it as far as when they put a bullet in his head before I made my dad turn it off. I've watched the new one but still haven't gone back to watch the original.

Event Horizon is another I won't watch again. I was paranoid for days after that, turning on lights, peeking around corners.

My younger brother won't watch Childs Play because we watched part of it one night and he got scared and went to bed. For weeks after that I would sneak into his bed room at night and make Chucky voices.

Yup. I actually thought it was a female when I was a kid. Thought she was a witch

Good call on Dark Crystal, but for some reason freaking Labyrinth totally screwed me up. I remember falling asleep somewhat during the part where the little freaks start juggling their heads, and I had an actual physical pain in my stomach for the whole next day. That whole movie is just profoundly disturbing to me.

I can usually see typical horror things coming a mile away, but I still jump at all of the "surprise" moments in most movies. Annoying as hell.

When I was young, there was a tv show on hosted by Leonard Nimoy called "In Search Of..." It did shows about typical 70's phenomena (Bigfoot sightings, alien sightings, ghosts, the Bermuda Triangle, etc.)

Some of the reenactments, along with Nimoy's voiceover and creepy music could send chills up my 9-year-old spine...

You just reminded me of two shows that gave me the heebies as a kid - America's Most Wanted and Unsolved Mysteries.

Seems like some serial killer had always escaped custody and had last been seen in my area.

And the lady who had different heads and would put them on?

Now that I think about it, who the **** made that movie. ****ing horrifying.

Creepshow. Watched it on cable when I was 10 or so. Loved it (still do), but boy did it mess me up.

"Where's my cake?!"
"I can hold my breath for a long time."
"Oh Jordy Verrell, you lunkhead."
"Mr. Pratt! What's the matter? Bugs got your tongue?"
"Just tell him to call you Billie." < my favorite.

Oh, Unsolved Mysteries! I once sat alone in my house with my Dad's hunting knife in my lap after watching an episode... convinced the bad guy was coming to get me. Eventually, I ran out the front door to a friend's house. Good times.
