Cody apparently said in an interview that it was legit, was not a bait and switch or some kind of gimmick. It is legitimately a very talented, well-known wrestler.

How about this theory? Drew McIntyre. They took the title off him in a cheap way. The last contract was apparently signed in spring of 2017. Let's say it was a four year deal with a 60 day neg window and 30 day notice. Let's say he turned in his 30 day notice and that's why he lost the belt. Timing would almost be right.

(And no, I don't think there's any way this is actually the case.)

RVD is available as he left impact last fall. But his last run in Impact was terrible.

He's still listed as a "Current Superstar" though

I'm not sure if he's still there, but he was with ROH just a couple of months ago.

I saw that New Japan didn't sign him because of backlash, and I think it's why he wasn't re-signed with ROH.

It would be interesting to see the hoops people would jump through to say why Brock going to AEW is good. People dumped on WWE a lot because was there and winning the championship. And there's no way Brock goes to AEW without a big day and the title.

He is incredible to watch. I love the triangle. Pac n omega had a match early on in aew and booooy was it a sight to see. Ill nerve forget the bump pac took after a front kick from omega. Look like he was shot out of a camera and into the turn buckle
