diamond,

I could name hundreds, maybe thousands. Is there any particular type that you are looking for? Most of what you listed looks like top 40. There are numerous lists out there on the internet for this type of material, like the one on the left hand side of this page by decade that takes you to a year by year list...

Same here. This is my era and I can name all of them. And most of that top 10 I still hear all the time because I listen to oldies stations, 70's on 7, and Classic Vinyl.

The thread veers away from the theme of "forgotten" songs in the first 10 posts, standard TexAgs.

That's because it's impossible to define "forgotten"

I brought it back with my post from this morning. But, alas, it has veered again.

I would assume it meant songs that don't get heavy radio replay these days.

Leroy Van Dyke played the Austin County Fair along with Jim Ed Brown back in the mid-1970's. I saw them both live! Leroy played two nights! Man, I loved that song as a 6-year old.

"Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band
That song was on the in-store "Eckerd Radio" tape at Eckerd Drugs when I worked there in High School.

I can't stand that song. And when it was on a 90 minute loop, I'd have to suffer through it multiple times a day.

Here are two from 1979 that I enjoy

John Stewart - Gold (ft. Stevie Nicks)
Of course when I was a kid, I had no idea where Kanan was but in the 2000s, I wound up driving it a few times.

M - Pop Muzik
Fun fact - by the time I heard this song at age 9, I had already been to "New York, London, Paris, Munich".
In my Saudi Arabia existence, I assumed that was normal.

Just found this thread, so I'm late to the game.

Here's a few to think about.

I doubt if many will remember this at all, but a buddy had the album, and we listened to it a lot:'
Bloodrock, - D.O.A. - 1972

Humble Pie - Hot 'n' Nasty - 1972

Humble Pie - 30 Days in the Hole - 1972

Humble Pie - I Don't Need No Doctor - 1971
