wow, i didn't know colton faked getting sick last time he was on the show. Haven't seen jeff call out someone like that the way he did to colton.

Colton = big loser

Colton really does give a bad name to gays.

To 1,000,000 touchdowns ...and beyond

Gervase's face when Colton went so it on his BF's lap was pretty fantastic.

I'm not sure what anybody else's TV guide said, but it kind of ruined the episode for me tonight. First, it said a player quits. Well if you watched this weeks previews it was pretty clear who it would be. Then it went on to say a major blindside at tribal. So 3/4ths of the way through the episode when there are two names being considered, and one is your typical young, weak girl, it's pretty obvious the other one is going home... I guess I'm going to have to stop reading the teasers.

I hope jeff says Colton isn't allowed to go to the finale. what a pos.

as aTmAg said above, redemption island makes some sense in this format.

So glad Colton is gone.

Typically, quitters are not allowed at the finale. It's a pretty big NO NO to quit. This is why I hate when they bring people back for another shot. They have thousands of applicants wanting to be on this show and they keep regurgitating the same people. If you want to have an All Stars every five years or so, fine.

Culpepper is doomed. He has gone too hard, too early.

Why would you read the guide/teaser for a Survivor episode? You know the structure of the show and the people involved. Any additional info is a potential spoiler. I don't think I've ever read one in 10 years.

Agreed. This season is set up so that the other tribe will get pissed at you no matter what because you've orchestrated the dismissal of their loved ones, but Brad took it a step further. When he said he wanted to be the only one to not vote for John, he turned off his own tribe as well. I think that was the moment he went one step too far.

Furthermore, (as mentioned by a contestant on the show) all your dirty laundry gets aired out at the redemption island arena. All the more reason to tread lightly.

Colton, what a joke.

Survivor casting directors, stop picking out people who you think have a personality that will create drama and bring ratings. Instead, pick out people stable enough to endure and fit enough to compete.

Colton quit because no one wanted to listen to him stir up trouble. And because he was the first to go.

Aras had it right. He's playing gay Russell Hantz version of survivor.

Jeff: "Colton, what are YOU crying about."

Then Jeff got pissed. We gave you another chance and you reward us by quitting? Then he drops that he faked his illness. No way Jeff does that unless he is pissed.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Like a lot of viewers, I know you had your doubts about Colton returning, and sure enough he quits just a few days into the game. He talked a lot about rehabbing his image this time around. What do you think the public perception of Colton Cumbie is after this outing?

JEFF PROBST: Probably pretty close to what I said to him at Redemption Island Arena. Go away and don’t come back. I very much felt as though I was saying what most viewers would say if given the chance. There was no image rehab happening during Blood vs. Water. I don’t know Colton outside of this game so maybe he leads a very happy, loving, balanced life back home. I hope he does. I have formed my opinion only from the handful of days he has played Survivor and based on that — my opinion is that he’s led a pretty sheltered and soft life. When things go south, he just quits and goes home. I wasn’t surprised at all that he quit.

EW: You really called him out, and not just for quitting here, but for faking an illness to quit last time as well. What really struck me was when you said, “We brought a quitter back and we got a quit again.” It almost seemed like you taking a very public mental note in sort of a “fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me” sort of way. Is that the case?

PROBST: Yes, because we really did get what we deserved. We took a shot on someone who we all believed quit the first time and we knew the risks that came with bringing them back. So it was frustrating to watch it happen again because it really does suck some of the momentum out of the show. I also felt we had to own our part in it. We couldn’t blame Colton without also blaming ourselves. We are the first to take credit when a casting idea works so we have to accept blame when it doesn’t.

EW: Ah, a return to the classic push-the-other-person-out-of-the-sumo-ring challenge. A lot of intriguing match-ups here, including two mother vs. daughter battles and a brother-on-brother contest. Which loved one vs. loved one match-up were you most excited to see?

PROBST: No question. Aras vs Vytas. Having two brothers of my own and being a guy, I really related to the dynamic of Aras being the “chosen one” and Vytas always feeling one step behind. I wasn’t rooting specifically for one over the other but you could feel the history between the two and the need for healing playing out in front of you. It was pretty special. I will add that watching moms take on their daughters was also very compelling. Being a parent, I found myself wondering if I really could go full out and try to defeat my child. It had to be tough on all those who had to square off against a loved one.

EW: Looks like Brad Culpepper is in for another tough time at Redemption Island arena next week. Tease us up, Probst!

PROBST: Brad Culpepper is going to be in for tough times for as long as he is in the game. He asks for it. He can’t help it. I like Brad and I like Monica too – I find them very fun to be around — but Brad brings it on because he is just a very big personality.

This was just moronic. Orchestrating a bold move and then trying to be a complete weasel about it is bad juju.

That was a great episode

Caleb had nothing to lose but it may come back to hurt him if Brad rejoins the other tribe. Of course that would be an ideal time to throw a comp and vote Brad out. So much more going on in this season. I love the twist.

I liked the move, but Caleb was a little bitvh after the vote.
Fat Bib Fortuna

saying loudly who you're voting for before the vote is really starting to pay off at tribal council. Lets other people quietly backstab without feeling terrible about it.

Great episode. Culpepper's hubris bit him in the a$$. He thought he had Caleb, Vytas and Hayden locked down. He should have just went and "got water" with the guys and Ciera would be at RI.

Will he let Monica take his spot next week? I am guessing he won't. But, it would be damn good tv if he did.

I guess Caleb thinks he is king of the hill, now. LOL
Fat Bib Fortuna

Culpepper's machismo won't let him tap out for his wife. IF I were him, I would have not woken up candice or her hubby. It will be interesting to see if they coordinate efforts in the next Redemption Challenge to get him out.

He is aware that he needs to do damage controll, i just think hes not near as smart as he thinks he is. Like many before him he thought he had it all figured out only to be left on the outside because he couldnt see he was the cause of his own demise.

If she takes his place the vets should throw the comp and send him to RI.

You just can't be a target. You can't play balls to the wall. He did it and paid for it. Everyone that starts playing the game too soon goes.

It really comes down to, who is most like able in the majority alliance.

My money right now is on Vykas.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Vytas to win it all? Or Vytas as the most likeable amongst Culpepper's former crew? Hayden seems fairly likeable as well.
Rudyjax
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Vytas to win it all.

Hayden won BB. Tina and Aras won Survivor.

It will be the family member of a contestant is my guess. Which leads to Vykas.

I thought John was toast at the RI challenge. He just didn't seem to have the competitive fire of Candice and Culpepper.

I'm going to laugh if the next RI challenge is some kind of endurance/eating contest and the whole "send Laura M. who's good at puzzles" strategy backfires.

I felt sorry for Laura B. She is clueless. No social game. No physical game. She is good at chores, though.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
The way Laura B tried to "stir" up trouble with Kat was so silly... "the girls wanted to do the challenge, so they were upset with you...i'm just saying"

LHIOB
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I looked at my wife and said, "Kat has a history of not being too bright"

Im glad she saw through it. Id like her and Hayden to do well.

They had an intereting take on RI sending someone to beat a player. She was their puzzle worker so it may come back to bite them in the future...unless the switch up evens things out a little...

thats a good point... they made their team significantly weaker in puzzle challenges which so far has been a huge difference in who wins and loses the challenges

laura B will jump ship as soon as they merge

*Laura M. dominates another puzzle challenge. Although, lining up tiles in sequential order isn't much of a challenge. Adios, Culpepper.
*Let's shake things up! Vytas gets hosed in the shuffle, but plays his hand well and survives.
*Poor Kat. What a dummy. Keep your mouth shut and bide your time, then Vytas gets voted out instead of you.
*Tyson knows how to be a complete ***** bag. Clearly, he's never read "How to Win Friends and Influence People."

I would have given $500 for Jeff Probst to have said.

"Brad Culpepper, you've competed in the fiercest arena in the world ... well, OK technically you played for Tampa Bay, but still."
Gramercy Riffs
How long do you want to ignore this user?
And Brad would have said "I also played for Minnesota and Chicago."

I didn't like the redemption challenge. It was pretty lame to have the numbers in perfect groups for each bag. I think if the "puzzle" was going to be that straightforward, the numbers should have been mixed up. Instead of Bag A having numbers 1-10, it should have had any ten numbers from 1-100. Bag B should have had any twenty numbers, and so on.
LHIOB
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Agree on the number tiles. It wasnt a tough challenge, it just required speed.

What does Rupert think about his wife saying Vytas is the most impressive man she's ever met?

I think they went out of their way to not show Gervais chomping down on some fried chicken.
