oh, and I just happened to watch the second episode of 'Band of Brothers' the other day (the one where they took out the artillery bunkers that were shelling the beaches) and lo and behold....there was Andrew Scott as the separated-from-his-division radio operator who helped in the assault. He was the only soldier killed during the fighting. Add yet another to the long list of now-famous actors who appeared on that mini-series.

Should SPECTRE Destroy Quantum, Or Forget It Ever Happened?

I think it's possible for these two organizations to exist in the Bond Universe.

Quantum struck me as a business. These were capitalists involved in numerous things (and not always evil things) with the sole intention of making money. Sure, human life wasn't that important to them, but their main goal always seemed to be "how can we make more money?"

SPECTRE always seemed to me to be about money and power. Their goals were to create global chaos and use blackmail as their methods of seizing money. SPECTRE wanted to extort money from governments. Quantum used their power to destabilize regions because it was 'good for business.' That's all this was to them: business. Think Halliburton....but with no morals.

It's possible that Mr. White may have left Quantum for SPECTRE.....or he may even be in both. Still using his Quantum membership to make money while using SPECTRE because he can make even more money.

So being in Quantum and Spectre is like having both a Sams AND Costco membership?!?!

Or having subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon Prime AND Hulu Plus.

I think Spectre coming back would make it interesting, but I had thought for awhile that Quantum had taken the place of Spectre in the Bond-verse at this point. But like GiveEmHellBill said, it's possible that these two organizations could have some overlapping membership. Though in Solace, if Quantum had actually gotten control of the water they could have been not only monetarily well off, but would also held a considerable amount of power.

On the point of Felix Leiter, as we saw in Skyfall when Mallory took over the position as M, some of the names in the series can be used as an alias. M is an alias, and in my mind has always been treated as such when you consider that there have been numerous different people in the position. Leiter is another alias IMO for any CIA contact (or any other American contact) that Bond may have. Depending on the situation, it could even be used as a legend like we saw in Casino Royal. Q is just whoever is the quartermaster for Bond's gear. I don't get too wrapped up about that kind of stuff, but Jeffrey Wright was a pretty good Leiter IMO.

I honestly don't get too wrapped up about the name aspect. However, it is interesting how they do seem to want to keep some continuity of the films now. They have pretty much established that Bond is not a legend since they rebooted the franchise with Casino Royale. Before you could say that Bond was another alias for whoever was 007 at the time.

They both serve slightly different purposes.

Costco for household goods, cheeses, beef and fish.

Sam's for Cleaning, garage/outdoor supplies, pork, and fruit

Christoph Waltz comes up as Oberhauser on the official twitter feed, bonds ski instructor who disappeared. A lot of people think he will end up becoming blofeld so they show where blofeld came from. I hope so because I can so see waltz as the perfect blofeld walking around petting a white cat. I have not been this pumped for a movie in a while as I've always been a HUGE bond fan. Bringing back spectre and landing waltz is the best thing the franchise has done in a while

FRWL is my favorite Bond, but as I recall that's Bond dealing with general Spectre and Blofeld doesn't make an appearance.

Right. It doesn't show Blofeld's face. But it's still Spectre. The first time we really get a good look into it.

The Sony hack just continues to get crazier and crazier. The script for Spectre has leaked, and not only does Gawker have a rundown of the ENTIRE thing, but the third act apparently sucks (confirmed by the many leaked emails of executives b*tching about it). The movie started filming Monday, btw. Really, just when you think it couldn't get any worse for Sony, something like this happens...

Yep, third act sounds like an absolute mess. Disappointing. Probably too late in the game to expect a very good movie.

It's funny to hear all the stories of execs ruining scripts, but i wouldnt be surprise they deserve more credit for identifying good ones and fixing bad ones than the other way round.

^ Sorry, just now seeing this. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, it can't change by much, since a couple of the locations have no doubt already been locked down, the action choreographed, etc., but I guarantee you they'll make changes in any way they can. Especially if it's one of the last things shot, which could be two or three months from now. That's a tight window, but should be enough time to adjust.

Looks like the trailer will be dropping tomorrow for this one... hope they were able to work out the issues with the third act a bit to make this a good Bond movie. Be a waste of Waltz's abilities if they go with anything close to what I read in the link above.
