think it is absolutely relevant because of the "realness" of the characters. I think Walt would have a VERY hard time selling out Skylar, in spite of their rocky relationship,

I don't think he would. I think if the choice came down to it he would be fine with it. He only wanted to stay married to her because of the secrets she keeps.

I have a feeling he goes out ala tony Montana.

Walt would NOT sellout his kids. To say so is completely ungrounded, imo
.

Your opinion is completely wrong and ungrounded, imo. Except for his daughter.

I would be surprised if he goes out with a ridiculously bad accent in a terrible movie...

Don Eladio's accent was even worse. Stupid Manny.

I think he got into cooking meth out of an honest desire to leave them comfortable. But, once he figured out he was GREAT at it, not just adequate, he began to get attached to that and to self-identify himself as the amazing Heisenberg! Most of his choices after the first few have been to grow/glorify Heisenberg rather than to do anything in particular for his family. He (his ego) now aspires to personal greatness, which he can only achieve as Heisenberg.

I think that it makes sense to say that Walt's feelings toward his family have changed with his character arc. As he feeds his pride and seeks continuing self glorification, what was once genuine love for his family turns more and more into territorial possessiveness. The change in his self perception is affecting how he views his loved ones.
