he lied to her for 2 full seasons, leaving her to imagine all kinds of things he was doing (cheating on her, using drugs, etc.). he made decisions that put their family in danger, not to mention highly illegal, and only after learning these lies, did she cheat on him and eventually become involved in the business.
she's no innocent but I think her behavior has always been at least somewhat understandable. walt's killed many people now, become a complete megalomaniac and put his family in immense danger, but somehow Skyler's the bad guy.
Exactly. Sklyar put in a great effort for two seasons until she discovered Walt's lies and the fact that he was endangering her and Walt Jr. A series of lies for that extended period is enough to make the marriage irreparable. Where would you begin to try and sort things out? Is there any remaining trust to build on? To make matters worse, Walt forces himself and his endangering baggage onto his family when he was requested not to as part of his "I was an emasculated loser, but now I'm a man" character arc. Don't get me wrong. I still think that Walt is a very cool character, and I don't necessarily mind his weakness/vulnerability. Rather, I'm just pointing out that Walt does let his emasculation get the better of him and that he does respond in an unforgivably selfish and irresponsible manner. His decisions disqualify him from any right to be anyones' husband or father.
What she does as a response is counterproductive, and based on the other posts she embarks on a greater descent in the coming seasons (I'm not opposed to spoilers), but I don't see her as responsible in any way for the destruction of her marriage. The marriage was destroyed two-fold by the endangerment of the White family and the elaborate lies brought upon by Walt's weakness/tragic flaw.
So Skylar may yest fall out of my favor, but I definitely agree with the poster above that she did not destroy her marriage. Her marriage was over before she started to cheat. She simply treated the matter as it deserved to be treated. Prior to that, she was a good a wife as one could hope for.
