So I finally decided to give The Sandlot 2 a try, seeing as The Sandlot is one of my favorite movies. I expected to hate it, but I actually quite enjoyed it. Sure, it's pretty much the exact same plot as the first (except with girls) and plays on the nostalgia factor, but even so it was a fun watch. Lots of winks and nods to the original.
So I went ahead and watched 3 also. Just finished it and enjoyed it quite a bit as well. This one definitely goes off and does its own thing, but it also has a lot of nice throwbacks to the original (including two major characters returning in semi-major roles
).
I would recommend the both of them to fans of the original. They may not be quite as good as the first, but admittedly that's probably because of nostalgia goggles. Just watch them with no expectations and you'll probably enjoy them.
