have a show? Seriously?

I hate that racist POS.

I keep seeing people post this. Why exactly is George Lopez a racist?

Have you ever seen any of his standup routines? The entire show is pretty much anti-white mexican revolution bull****. I'm Mexican, and see his bits as trite and racist. He tones it down a lot for his late night show and his old tv show (both pretty much catering to white folk).

I know he claimed when his show was cancelled it was because he was "Chicano." I guess it never occurred to him it was because he sucked.

I liked his old stand up, but never kept up with him and his shows recently.

I thought he was pretty funny...and I'm white.

I have never met anyone who watched or knew the Lopez show even existed.

In other words, every person that you have ever known or met has never watched TBS.

Ever.

Oh god, another "George Lopez is racist" thread. Most comedians use race in his/her standup. When white guys (and Sara Silverman) do it, it's labeled "being edgy". Turn off the blinders, Lopez makes fun of the stupid stuff Latinos do too!

He's not bad doing stand-up comedy... though I wondered if he was coked-up during the stand-up stuff that I've seen.

Because we was so poor my momma would say *indescernable Spanish here* and look ay me with this look *tilting head and bulging eyes out*

I have no idea if he's racist or not, honestly haven't watched his standup. Race is one of the biggest elements of stand up especially for minority comedians...

I just think he's terrible. Watched a little bit of his show after Conan this week, and he sucks. His timing and delivery are both awful.

Using race as the base of jokes is one thing. I just always get the sense that he genuinely hates white people. There's some spite and bitterness behind his jokes that always rubs me the wrong way.

or maybe you don't find him funny because you can't relate to his material. Growing up in a hispanic household I can relate to much of his material. I guess because many of his jokes are about the Latino culture that makes him a racist in people's eyes. I think it is fine if you don't think he is funny, to each his own, but to label him a racist, I think, is too extreme.

I can read, but just because he is Mexican, doesn't mean he can relate to the material. I can relate to his schtick because I had a similar upbringing. Ergo, race/nationality has nothing to do with whether someone can relate to the material it's more about a persons background and environment that thye grew up in.

If you think he is not funny, that is your opinion. In fact, I don't care for his current show right now. I love his standup and his old show, but not the current one. It is just not necessary to label someone as racist when there really is nothing to back that claim up/

His timing as it pertains to more universal humor (his late night show) has gotten better.

That said, he's still pretty freaking bad

Hispanics are an emerging demographic that the Entertainment media covet. Its like how the Will and Grace show was targeted at getting homosexuals.

You also get stars like Jessica Alba that can pass for white or Hispanic getting more attention than they normally would due to the idea that two demographics will tune in.

Why do people who know they don't like George Lopez watch his show? I've never seen it, so I have no idea one way or another.

I want to like him. But he really isnt very funny.

George Lopez is funny but he is racist. I stopped watching his show after he pointed out a white guy in the audience and called him a fool. It was definatley out of hostility like "what are you doing here you arent one of us". Part of the problem is he does his monologe drunk.

As a Mexican-American/latino/hispanic ... [ whatever square you want to check off] I used to appreciate and laugh at his schtick...it was actually pretty funny back in the day.

Now, that I know he's a full fledged Obama supporter..."EF" Him and the Donkey he and his one-legged madre rode in on!!!

You and Sandra Bullock can go blow cabritos all day long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like George Lopez, but I don't care for the way he brings in politics to his routine. I heard "F*** that puto" one too many times (in reference to George Bush). The last time I saw Lopez live, I think he spent 10 minutes praising Obama.

He is not funny and I have heard he is a first class jerk.
