My elementary through high school years.

I was going to do a 90's list but I was born in 88, so it would have ended up being my favorite songs now from each year as opposed to my favorites at the time. That list would be radically different.

Remember, these were my favorites at the time, so cut me some slack.

1995 - Seal - Kiss From a Rose

1996 - La Bouche - Be My Lover (Macarena a close second.)

1997 - Chumbawamba - Tubthumping

1998 - Backstreet Boys - Everybody (Backstreet's Back) (I owned this album, as I admitted in the confessions thread.)

1999 - Smash Mouth - All Star / Eiffel 65 - Blue (couldn't decide)

2000 - 3 Doors Down - Kryptonite

2001 - Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal

2002 - System of a Down - Chop Suey!

2003 - Fountains of Wayne - Stacy's Mom

2004 - Audioslave - Show Me How To Live

2005 - The Killers - Mr. Brightside

Edit on 2004. Forgot about that song.

Sounds like a good mix for my next party.

Tubthumping -- one hit wonder for the ages, NEVER gets old!

Will always love 'Little Black Backpack' - perfect, catchy short little song that guys and girls can relate to.

Seal- Kiss from an Angel (use the edit option to change this )

I think I need to dafoe up my list with some honorable mentions that just missed the cut:

New Radicals - You Only Get What You Give
White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag
Marcy Playground - Sex and Candy
RHCP - Californication
The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright
Savage Garden - I Want You

Not gonna bother with years.

I was in high school and college in those years, and I recall these being the big songs, in rock at least, which is what I listened to.
I didn't like the early 2000s rock too much... Korn, Linkin Park, etc. so I'm heavy on the 90s

90's
Gel, The World I Know, Precious Declaration, and Heavy by Collective Soul

Say It Ain't So, The Sweater Song by Weezer

Daughter, Dissident, Edelry Woman Behind a counter in a Small Town, Wishlist, I Got Id, Betterman by Pearl Jam

00's
Audioslave was about the only good "new" band then (I was listening to it this morning even) Cootchise, Show Me How to Live, Like a Stone

I think Bill and I could be friends.

I have always said that audioslave was the only good new band since 2000. However they still didn't fully live up to potential.

I would have thrown in better than Ezra and the toadies as well. But you are spot on with collective soul and weezer.

I would second those bands Mucho. I was also remembering a sprinkling of a few others...

Interstate Love Song, Vasoline, Big Empty, Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart,Stone Temple Pilots

On a ligher side, but still good,
Everything You Want, You're a god, and I am Not,Vertical Horizon

Black Balloon, Iris, Naked - Goo Goo Dolls

And they also played stuff by Everclear (Santa Monica) and Offspring (Keem em Seperated, Pretty Fly for a White Guy)
