Hey jack*ss, to answer your question, no, I didn't think the movie would magically get better. It was horsecrap, I knew it, but watched again because the family wanted to watch it and I was curious how it would look on my big-screen plasma.

And when one is on vacation in a car with a DVD player and the daughter wants to watch it, why would I say no?

Visually, it was a stunning movie. I don't think anyone here is going to tell you the movie was "groundbreaking" because of the script/originality/acting.

It did have some groundbreaking special effects, though.

I'm glad I saw it in theaters, if only for the experience. Once was enough for me, though.

Not many people have seen Seven Samuri (including me). Everybody has seen Dances with Wolves. Why not use groundbreaking special effects on at least a decent story?

Well maybe it's just on me, because I loved Dances With Wolves. It's a classic "stop down" movie for me, and thank to AMC and a 4 hour run time with commercials, it has caused me to have many a late night.

Avatar was the stupidest movie I've ever seen. I couldn't even focus on the "visuals", because the story was so terrible.

It wasn't the stupidest ever... just a bland story. And me personally, I don't get a hard on for graphics the way most people do... but that's me. To each his own. That said, since graphics aren't a priority to me, Avatar isn't a must see.

Don't get me wrong, I like Dances With Wolves too. Its story is not so simpleton (you have both bad and good Indians, for example), John Dunbar is a likable guy, it has humorous parts, etc. Not to mention that the story had many original aspects to it since it was first. Avatar flat out copied it and removed the good parts, and tried to make up for it with special effects. There's a reason it won best picture and Avatar didn't.

Haven't seen it. Not going to. I don't really give a s*** about computer graphics being cool. If they are in a good movie, great. If they are in a s****y movie, it's still a s****y movie.

I find it amusing that some of you are sporting your not seeing a movie like some sort of badge of honor.

For the graphics, I was too deep into the movie to stop watching it. The movie as a plot, character development, etc was big sheit.

Also, The Matrix was ripped off also.

Oh noez, because I was totally planning to get with her. That will ruin my enjoyment of looking at her, knowing she probably doesn't dig dudes. Everyone knows a straight man can't get turned on by looking at lesbians.
