I remember when that movie first came out when I was in high school and everyone was freaking out about the sexual content in it. I figured I could just watch skinemax if I wanted to see some boobs so I never saw it. I'm glad I didn't because I know the underlying themes of the movie would have been lost on me as a teenager simply waiting for the next shot of more T and A.

Overall it was a pretty interesting movie and not really what I expected. The random narrations, once I got used to them and picked up on their purpose, really added a lot to the film. I thought the actors did a great job portraying the pain and awkwardness of sexuality, growing up, and relationships.


Question:

Is the girl in the movie hot or do I just have a fetish for older women seducing younger guys haha? The Graduate is one of my favorite movies and Mrs. Robinson makes me crazy in that movie too.

Also, can't say I was suprised when the two guys started making out. Them jerking their gerkins next to each other at the swimming pool was already pretty awkward.

I liked the flick but thought the ending was a cop-out, not unlike Chasing Amy's. Still, it was refreshing to get a decidedly non-American take on the relationship between young men and older women.

I saw this in the theatre when a friend suggested he'd heard good things about it. I'd never even heard of it.

I was 27 or 28 when I saw it so there was no "getting lost in the T&A" aspect in it for me. However, the subtleties, etc. you refer to in your post were completely lost on me. I hated that movie and wanted to beat the hell out of my friend when it was over. There's artsy fartsy stuff and then there's just bad. I thought this movie was terrible and would have left if I'd have been in my own vehicle.

As for the movie, I saw it once. I found it boring for the most part. I don't have an issue with watching movies with subtitles, but this movie just never got me interested. Maybe I just don't really care about movies not titled "Porky's" that deal with horny teenage boys.

Alright, so MAYBE my response was over the top.

I just get really tired of some of the sniveling, sniping comments on this board. Something in particular set me off about WoMD's.

Anyway, yeah I think Fenrir hit the nail on the head. "Boring" is probably the best word for it in my opinion. Then you add in stuff like a duck feeding contest on diving boards and you just lose me.
