I was very impressed with Vince G's logic behind the plane and the entire use of chain events to show the devastating effects of 1 person's actions.

i would be shocked if this show does not sweep the emmys.

Just finished it, I thought the end was pretty cheesy for this show but hopefully everything gets ironed out enough to where it makes sense.

Breaking Bad was awesome in season 2. I can't even imagine how awesome its gonna be for season 3. Can't wait!

Re-watching BB now and remembering how awesome season 2 was. First appearance of Saul, then Gus three episodes later, and Mike in the season finale two episodes after that.

Also, man nobody was watching this show in S2. This thread is me pretty much taking to myself.

I chuckled when I saw "the lawyer" and "chicken man" referenced. Didn't even know their names yet.

The only season I watched in real time was season 5. I was way late to the party.

the good ole days. before everything was streamed and allowed the sheeple to binge whatever they were hearing about on social media, so they could then take to social media and talk about how overrated said show is, only cause they are bitter they didnt get in on it before the hype train got going.

I've been re-watching the entire series this last week. Currently on S3. Three things stand out:

1) Its amazing how much I've forgot - it's like watching it for the first time again almost.
2). It really stands up over time very well (other than the flip phones).
3) I miss Tuco's reaction after taking a hit of meth.

Why would flip phones make it not stand up? Flip phones were the phones of the period. They didn't have I-phones in Godfather and that still stands up.

The first few seasons weren't that great comparatively. The IMDB ratings for those early episodes were in the 7's at the time. Now with all the fanboys and bandwagoners they have jumped into the 8's mostly, but it took a while for that show to really find its remarkably high level. Had the folks here and other places not said "stick with it", I might have stopped.
I remember the exact moment when I saw the possibilities, might have been the season 2 opener, when the brothers crawled to that small church in the middle of nowhere. It was such a unique scene with the music, and you could just see there was something different coming. And the level just kept going up.

Don't read my comment the wrong way - the show is still great after all these years (do I need to repeat "really stands up over time"?). I don't recall anything in the series that explicitly dates the series to a certain time (there may have been, I just don't recall offhand). And my comment was really intending to mean that you could almost assume the series was much more recent based on the overall quality of it and lack of content that overly dates it....with the exception of the phones. There really isn't much in the way of special effects or anything else to date it so that just leaves some technology anachronisms like the phones that point to a specific time it was made. Its not like they intentionally used older tech when it was filmed - they (afaik) used tech of the day and (I assume) made the timeline "current time". I could be totally off though and maybe one of you BB geeks can correct me on that (I'm sure someone here will lol).

None of these comments are meant to be negative...just a reality and thoughts of watching something older. Its still great and I highly recommend everyone who hasn't watched it in over 5 years to give it a re-watch!
