NBC posted the premiere on Hulu...caught it out of boredom today. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It's obviously not The Wire or The Shield. There is nothing groundbreaking or that you haven't seen before and there are enough cliches running around, but if you can get past those, it's worth giving it a couple of episodes.

I thought it looked really good, and the way they shoot it makes LA feel a lot more real than you generally get. Again, they aren't doing for LA what The Wire did for Baltimore, but it has a good documentary feel. The acting was pretty decent as well- Ben McKenzie is inexplicably likeable and is a good fit here.

The ER crew put this one together, and it actually moves into that spot pretty well, I think. The audience that was there could transition into this one pretty easily. The big issue is that NBC can't have a huge commitment to it. This isn't the kind of show you watch at 8...its too gritty. This is a 9pm show, which won't exist for NBC next year. I can't see it anywhere on NBC's schedule next year (except for maybe at 9 on Sundays after football is over).
