Many people also think Shadow by The Burden Brothers (Lewis from the Toadies) is also about rape/stalkers. I read an interview (no I don't have a link) a few years ago that he states it's actually about his daughter and how he isn't there very often since he's always on the road (and I think he's divorced/not with the mother). He said it was about how he is always with her, even when he isn't physically there.
Songs that have true meaning to them stand out alot more than the songs that are truly just drivel that rhymes. It's a lot harder to write.
A poster above referenced The Grudge by TOOL:
On the surface the song seems pretty open about it's meaning. Maynard seems to be chastising people who hold "grudges" (which can also be interpreted as a steadfast point of belief such as religion), telling them that it's pointless and petty.
Towards the middle of the song Saturn is referenced. Remember that Saturn was king of all the gods and was so worried about being "overthrown", if you will, that he ate his children. All the time he spent looking over his shoulder, he still missed Zues, who eventually killed him. Every 27-29 (I forget which off the top of my head) years Saturn will orbit around the Earth. This is a time for renewal where you can "Hang on or be
Humbled again." In the song Saturn is "Humbled again" because of his stubborness.
Maynard has said in interviews that he doesn't want their songs to be quickly pegged as haveing "one meaning." He wants each listener to take away their own meaning and not let the lyrics override the musical aspects of the song. Analysing TOOL songs is a very difficult task b/c they can have so many different meaning.
