I pronounce it REFU-RRIO.
Who cares...it is hell in a hand basket.
so how do the locals say Llano:

the llano thing don't bother me at all since it can technically be pronounced both ways.
but the refugio thing drives me insane cause i don't see 2 R's in the word.
while on the subject....amarillo can be pronounced amariyo or amarillo that rhymes with armadillo.

Frank, this has always bothered me. There IS only one R in Refugio. Even if they pronounced it "Re-fu-Gio" that would be ok, but "re-fu-Rio"?
