Another Three Gringos fan at Garcia's- I still don't know why they went out of business.

I happen to like OTB for consistency-sake, but there's a bunch of good Mexican restaurants in downtown Bryan. Los Nort., Casa Rodriguez, Gina's, Zarape, etc.

What's the ultimate in hypocracy is that many of those that bash OTB swear by Olive Garden.

Towards the end, Garcia's was horrible. Maybe that's why it went out of business.

OTB is decent enough I guess. Nothing special. One is about to open in Texarkana, and the people here act like they just hit the lottery.

Ahhh the Tres Gringos!! I had it once a week it seemed. I thought the closure had something to do with the owners getting divorced - but I could be wrong.

It's a typical chain restaurant, mexican food menu, prepared for the credit-card bearing, gringo palette. In short, it's crap.

Garcia's was shut down for health code violations. A source tells me an undercover officer went back there and caught employees rinsing rat poop off of some plates. No joke. They had problems for years and they finally just reached a point where the city had to shut them down.

My bro worked at Garcia's just before it closed down. I've neveer heard any allegations about waiters doing anything gross with people's meals. I just thought they didn't get enough business.

Good mexican food at Los Nortenos, Los Cucos, Ninfas, Zapatos, and some place in Bryan that I can't think of the name, but you can bring alcohol in there.

I went to Garcia's once. Had terrible service, left a tip to represent said service, and found a nasty note from the waiter written on the back of my check when I got my bank statement.

When I called management to tell them about their employee, they didn't care.

So I never went back and was happy when they closed.

That being said, OTB isn't the greatest food. But it's consistent and you know what you are going to get. I like their tortilla soup.

How 'bout Dos Cabelleros in Pampa, TX?

Liar! I have been there twice and wasn't impressed either time. But I will go there with you after Spring Break and try again if you want.

Gina's in Bryan is pretty good

I loved garcia's when they opened, and couldn't believe it when I heard they closed. But from what y'all are saying, I understand why. In the restaurant business, you better not leave a bad impression. People will take their $ elsewhere, and you'll be gone.

I was also surprised to hear that Garcia's closed. They were good back in the day and always crowded. Same for OTB. It used to be great but it has sucked for years.

Bryan/College Station: Dos Hermanos (don't think they are open anymore)

Bryan/College Station: Mi Cocina in Bryan along 21 just west of Texas Avenue. They had some of the best breakfast tacos around.

Austin: Enchiladas Y Mas

Austin: Amaya's Taco Village

San Marcos: Herbert's Taco Hut

What can I say, I love the greasy Mom & Pop Kitchens.

La Taq had some pretty damn good migas back in the day.

If you're in College Station, go down 6, exit 21, go under the overpass, and then go all the way down until you see a bright green building on your left. Its called Taqueria Mexico...AMAZING!! Its your typical hole-in-the-wall, and it is SOOOOOO good. You gotta like REAL Mexican food though!

As for OTB and Mi Cocina...BLEH!
