One of my first favorite songs, 9-5.

Not too many legends left, and the future holds very few potentials.

I was about to say that we only a have a few country music icons left, but who is left besides Willie?

Johnny left us long ago, Waylon before him, then Kris.

George Jones, Charley Pride, I saw Hank Jr. about a year ago but I wouldn't put him up with the rest of the legends since he didn't have his heyday until the 80's aside from that whole falling off a mountain thing.

I had a nightmare about Ol' Dolly once. She was my mother and I was a bottle fed baby.

Are you talking about groups of three? Bc deaths come on threes.

We have a ZZ top band member, DP, Hayden P, and now Tim Curry.

So two more coming?

No. A "one of one" is something or someone that is unique and cannot be replicated. There will be another blues rock drummer like Frank Beard, there will be another ingenue like Hayden Panettiere, and there will be another quirky character actor like Tim Curry. There's never going to be another Dolly.

The last true philanthropist (Dolly P) is dead. No more exist. Not the Red Cross, not Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, not Oprah. These are all scheming elites and organizations that make money off what they give. Money laundering (Red Cross) and other "charities" are a SCAM. Anything labeled, a "foundation" is laundering dirty money, no matter who it is named for.

Give your dollars to a PERSON on the street or offer to buy them needed goods. Do not be fooled and give a dime to these parasites any longer.

I said what I said. It's your money, but you can always bless ONE PERSON in need to do your part. Even if you know some of the money will go to booze or drugs. Who cares? You gave with good intent.

I wouldn't give to a church either. They are tax exempt and no longer fulfill the role that gave them that designation. They report doing "missions" outside the US, but we have homeless and needy HERE in the US. How many "pastors" and "priests" live in luxury? Tithing can take many forms- your time, your effort, your assistance with programs working to help others.

Don't get trapped into feeling like you must give a monetary gift unless you know it reaches the intended group or you place it directly into a needy person's hand.

Not to derail the thread or anything, but you don't give to "a church". You give to "your church". If you wouldn't give money to your church you probably shouldn't be going to church there.

Dolly could have been a billionaire but chose to put that money back into people, community, and society.

The movie Dumplin' could never have been made without using her music. But at the time it was being independently financed without a huge budget. She basically said just pay what you can afford for the rights and let's get this movie made. She believed in the project and the people making it. It's why she also wanted to do the soundtrack.

Don't get me wrong, she had a very savvy business mind. But Dolly always seemed to focus on investing in people first.
