They have to disassemble, paint, reassemble. I guess they don't just touch up these days. If you're talking multiple parts like quarter panel, door(s), etc, it may be way more than you think.

I had a similar issue a few months ago and took the cash.

Insurance companies love to not payout parking lot accidents. Get a real quote, send the quote to the fleet manager, if he pays the bill or hands over cash, consider yourself lucky and have the repairs made.

Get a lawyer. Tomas J or 444-4444. Your BIL should be in bed in a neck brace, back brace, hip brace, knee brace. If it moves, brace it. Also no boneing your sister. She can make a claim too. Got kids? Don't play with them or have anything to do with them. They can make a claim. He can turn this into a major ghetto lottery ticket if he plays it right.

Heh, I work for a smallish construction contractor here in Houston. Last week, one of our resident dumbasses bumped into a car on site on a forklift. Dude got a couple estimates, we offered him 1.5x cash - he gladly took that offer.

But you bet your ass I had him come into our office and sign a liability waiver from him (and his insurance carrier) for releasing us from anything additional. Got to CYA
