I miss the space shuttle and cowboy one

I was about to post that! Those were so cool, why did we live away from them to now white with black numbers & letters? Other states used to have cool ones too. So boring now. I've been wondering this for 3-4 months now. It's been bothering me.

I love the old style plates with the year embossed in them.

I still my dad's Dallas plates from 1974.

Not these but something like this.

Something interesting

Massachusetts Holds the Oldest Active License Plate in America, and It's a Single Digit
First License Plate in USA is Still Active in MA, With One Digit
https://wokq.com/first-license-plate-in-america-massachusetts/

Quote:

The First License Plate in the USA:
The first ever license plate in America was issued in 1903 in Massachusetts to Frederick Tudor, son of the "Ice King" Frederic Tudor. The plate number...an iconic one digit..."1".
Even cooler, according to Thought Co., the license plate remains active in Massachusetts and is still in the Tudor family.
So if you ever see a car with a "1" as a license plate driving around New England, just know that was the first ever issued plate in America.

The correct answer is Northwest Territories. Their license plates are in the shape of a polar bear.

An answer can't be correct when it doesn't actually answer the question being asked.

Arizona has to be in the conversation. The desert sunset and cactus design actually make the plate look like it represents the state. I'd probably put Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Alaska near the top.

Wyoming has my vote.

Texas and Montana has the best specialty plates - they both have an insane amount of choices

As to favorites - North Dakota and Idaho. Honorable mention to Texas (plain and simple) and Alaska/Utah's standard plate options.

Idaho gets extra points for mentioning potatoes on there.
