It's the day after...

Took grandson back to Austin to be reunited with his parents. He was a lot of fun, but also very tiring for this 60 year old. Slept great last night as expected; so tired this morning. lol.

Lots to do today before a long weekend trip to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday in Keystone, CO.

First off, need coffee...

WFH day, dog asleep on my bed. Installing software updates. Work. Work out. Work.

Slept well. Good to be back in my own bed.

Good work trip the first part of the week. Dinner at Manuel's in Austin has me wanting to visit that spot again.

Uber drivers are a roll of the dice. Especially the international drivers. Holy crap. Had to talk one of ours into making better choices before he got someone to road rage on us all. He honestly didn't see how what he was doing was wrong. That might work on Togo, brah, but not here.

My laptop is being stupid this morning.

Holy crap it was hot yesterday.

Busy day ahead. Funeral tonight.

Another warm summer day in west Georgia/east Alabama. Crepe myrtles and mockingbirds abound right now in the pleasant summer heat. Critters fed and coffee made.
Because a good day starts with good coffee.
Make it a good one in spite of what humankind and rogue AI are up to.

• Slept great!
• Awake about 7:15AM. Up at 7:45AM.
• Getting some travel work done before we head to the softball field today.
• Baking orange cinnamon rolls currently.
• Today is when the games count. Lose 2, we go home. So hoping we win our 12:30PM game.
• Holy crap it was WINDY yesterday. Waves were insane (double red flags).
• My daughter made an AMAZING diving catch in right yesterday. That was pretty cool.
• The whole softball team had dinner at "Hang Out" yesterday. That was ummm interesting.
• Some boy walked up to my daughter last night while they were outside (some band thing going), asked for her SNAP. She turned around and looked at my husband, in which the boy turned around and looked at him, and made some comment about oh you are too young and then skedaddled out of there.

Oh no. It was crazy. Loud music, kids, parents and workers dancing on the same tables you eat off of. Streamers and ****loads of napkins falling from the ceiling. The "band/entertainment" outside talked about peni***.

You can tell at night it's a popular hangout for older teens/young adults.

It wasn't bad. The girls loved it. Just wasn't what I was expecting.

A pleasant 64F when I bought my coffee this morning. Currently cloudy and 67F with a dewpoint of 59F. Very nice for July! Headed up to 81F today. We were only 80F yesterday. I'm enjoying the break from the heat. Will get hot again on Saturday.

Saw my knee doctor this morning. I told him that I thought my right knee (the one he scoped) was as good as the left, and I consider it healed. He wants to see me again in a month. I'm ready to be done with this. It's a hassle to drive to that part of town.

Going to Branson in eight days. We will be making knives. Not entirely sure why, but I plan to eventually carve up a table at Duddley's with mine.

I was in Chicago yesterday/today. That's where I'm flying in from. Tomorrow I fly to Greenville, SC. I'm in a different city/state every day this week. I get home to KC on Saturday afternoon.

When I first saw it, I was like WHO PLANS BOSTON TO CALIFORNIA and then a bunch of stuff in the middle. Zero sense lol.

Well in this case it would have made it easier on us to start in San Diego and work out way back across the country. Fewer long flights and it would have meant avoiding most of the traffic from San Diego ComicCon (also cheaper too).

El Tiempo or El Patio, both have great margaritas and good food.

Random universe thing. A smoke detector randomly showed up in our house yesterday on the floor under the tv. It has no batteries, but matches all the smoke detectors in our house. But none of the smoke detectors are missing. Asked wife and kids about it. They know nothing. I thought surely one of them took it down for some reason, but no. All of them are at least 9 feet high, so if someone removed one, they would have had to have used a ladder from the garage. Freaking weird.
