I think Weird Al needs a shot.

Trump got rid of DEI. HTH
A-A Ron said:They are probably complaining because there hasn't been any Country music in a while, considering in 59 years of the super bowl only two times have they had country artists (2003 - Shania, and 1994 - Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Travis Tritt, and the Judds). Also do in part because the NFL picks performers that a majority of the fan base somewhat like and country isn't generally the preferred genre of the majority of NFL fans.Ogre09 said:TXAG 05 said:wangus12 said:

This isn't even close. Go look at a list of past performers. Dr Dre and Snoop are the only rappers to headline.
Shakira and JLo - Pop
The Weeknd - Pop
Bunch of rappers
Rihanna - Hip Hop / R&B
Usher - Hip Hop / R&B
Kendrick Lamar
So 2 in 6 years

It was Kendrick's style. More of a artistic performance than a spectacle. I loved it. The focus was on Kendrick and the culture moreso than fireworks and bombastic sets.JamesPShelley said:So was PT Barnum... and after that ****show...I'm beginning to believe he was correct.CDub06 said:

I, too, found it incredible. Incredibly forgetful.

I would have never known he had "popular songs". ......my wife who listens to everything didn't even know who he was. I damn sure had never heard of him before last night. It's one thing to be a rapper and rap, but the show as a whole wasn't even entertaining. I couldn't understand anything and it all sounded the same. We both thought it sucked.CDub06 said:It was Kendrick's style. More of a artistic performance than a spectacle. I loved it. I understand why some wouldn't like it. You probably had to come into it with a bit of knowledge of Kendrick. It was a deliberate choice that he didn't play just his popular songs. And when he did, he wasn't doing the hooks. He was rapping. That was just ~12 minutes of hip hop. He was there for the culture.

My 86 year old grandfather-in-law, who doesn't send a lot of WhatsApp messages usually, sent this on the family WhatsApp after halftime:
"Why put such crap on. This is outrageous, egregious, preposterous"
He's the best!

Next year is in Santa Clara / Bay Area.
I bet Metallica gets it, if they want it. They are the biggest musical group in the history of California and from the Bay area.

I don't really even know Kendrick Lamar's music, but now I hate it just for him and this half time show's message. It's basically racism. What kind of response would an intentionally all white person performance get?

Stop watching the stupid game with ungrateful little steroid built boys and you won't have to worry about halftime shows. Money killed football just as money normally is root of all evils.
