I remember my dad telling me a shoe horn helps keep your dress shows looking nice. So I've had a wooden one I've use for decades. It helped too when I was LOLfat to put my shoes on.

Now that I'm a sleek 62 year old gray fox, I don't need one. But I still use one.

My old one finally split last week and I'm debating getting replacement. Do you guys think they really matter anymore with modern shoes?

For reference, I use cedar shoe trees for all my dress shoes too.

It's been 40 years since I've seen a shoe horn. I had one when I was a little kid, but I almost never used it as we weren't big church-goers.

Was thinking the same thing. Couldn't tell you the last time I saw a shoe horn, but I also don't wear dress shoes so that might be it.

If you don't use a shoe horn, how do you get shoes on- especially dress shoes- without bending the back of the shoe? Do you buy your shoes 2 sizes too big for easy access?

I'd rather take a kick in the fellas than have a crease in the heel of my shoe rubbing a blister on the back of my foot.

I use this little trick where I untie my shoes before I put them on. Usually solves the problem along with buying shoes that fit.

Same here. We had one when I was a kid. It might be still at my parents place. I have never bought one, neither seen one. Maybe it died after the 80s.
