He had Covid for 8 days before testing negative this morning. He's had shoulder replacement scheduled for two month for tomorrow.
He doesn't want to tell the hospital or the surgeon. I wrote him this note:
" A few things for you to consider:
CV attacks the respiratory system, leaving it compromised until it heals sufficiently. Just because you might not be positive, you will still be affected.
You will be under a general anesthesia for 2 hours or more with a compromised respiratory system
You will be undergoing a major highly invasive surgery and need your to be at full strength for the stress of the surgery and the follow on recovery.
You will be on meds following ( and during the surgery ) that could be compromised.
I know you're tired of waiting, but be patient and do it right. Please don't be an idiot.
Your call. Just a few things worth mentioning. Again, don't compromise yourself. We're not getting any younger.
