I YouTube Slice and it reveals many well made documentaries of old cultures that still exist today. I watch them at night when I want to relax. They can be interesting as they portray cultures that have changed very little over the millennium. It's kind of like time travel to the past.
Many of the cultures are one or two disasters from folding. Sometimes younger people would rather live in the modern world. Therefore, the older people wonder if the culture can be sustained. There seems to be a common trait amongst the elders. The best times in their lives were spent in the desert, forest, mountains, or fishing. Thus, they eschew the modern world. They can't imagine any other life.
I have watched bizarre documentaries that depicted a fisherman using a tethered remora attaching itself onto a larger fish as a fishing method. Another fishing technique uses a kite to skim bait just above the water to catch flying fish. There is a episode where fishermen in a small wooden boat trying to tie a 14 foot tiger shark to the boat in order to return to the village. One fisherman catches sharks with a lasso and bear hands.
